get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Post #2 of my new “session groups” blogging practice to catch up! Let’s see how it goes. 🙂
First up…Helen! She’s a senior in West Virginia and scheduled her session early last summer. It was a unique session for me because I don’t work with a ton of seniors and it was my last senior session before determining whether or not I’d still accept seniors. Even though we had a great session with beautiful weather, beautiful backdrops and a lovely senior gal, I did decide to no longer shoot senior sessions (I think I just work best with multiple people!) Enjoy Miss Helen. 🙂
I took one of my office chairs for some extra seating and I love the chic contrast it provided against the woods-y background…
Helen was pretty good at laughing for the camera. 🙂
Helen was also good at the “model look”…
Those trees, that sunlight and her pink shirt! LOVED the combo!
Next up is Mary and Max! Unfortunately, I’m unavailable for their wedding date, but am so glad I was able to work with them for their engagement session! They’re naturally a beautiful couple, and also very sweet. Definitely one of my favorite sessions of 2014 with some of my best work to date…in my opinion! 🙂
Cheat Lake Park was beautiful that evening!
How great are their smiles!?!
AH! HUGE PORTRAIT FAVORITE FOR ME!! These are some of the books! And, might I add, this particular pose was Mary’s idea. Such a simple, easy pose, but so powerful at the same time!
I love the creaminess of this black and white portrait:
And lastly for today, Autumn and Jeremy. I met them at Big Bear Lake in Preston County, WV for their engagement session. It was my first time there, so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. The lake area was starting to “bloom” with fall colors and the photo ops were bountiful!
I couldn’t get over the beautiful backdrop the reflective colors on the lake made…
A final few portraits before the sun went away…
Don’t these pictures make you even more excited for warmer weather!?! Shorts, sunsets, being outside with friends and family…spring is almost here!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
