Welcome to another installment of The Morning Coffee where I share random, spontaneous, let-the-juices-flow kind of thoughts…usually from my dining room table, and usually with coffee.
But today, no coffee. That’s been done and gone for a couple of hours. Now it’s almost 11am, the kids’ virtual school day is coming to a close, and I am ITCHING to get out and take pictures in the snow.
That’s right. Snow again. I think every single post in The Morning Coffee series so far has included the mention of snow. We woke up to an absolute winter wonderland after receiving a quick few inches of snow overnight. It’s the kind of snow that sticks to all the trees and rids them almost completely of their dark limbs and trunks. (It’s also the kind of snow that makes me think and want to write.) I walked down to our woods and INSANE was the first word that came to mind. The insane beauty brought on by this thick blanket of snow is just unreal, amazing, inspiring…insane.
But in the “shocking, outrageous” sense of the word.
The joy and wonder and amazement brought on by such wintry conditions leaves me extra perplexed as to why Wisp Resort hasn’t said anything about it in their marketing. It’s 11am on a snowy morning when the slopes and lifts are open and the’ve said nothing. In fact, they’ve said nothing on their social media for four days. No weather or snow mention. The winter storm warning was issued yesterday morning and the forecast called for 4-8 inches of snow. YES! Awesome! Exciting! But no mention of that from Wisp.
I’m perplexed.
The rest of Deep Creek and Garrett County, MD immediately took to their online platforms and shared the good snow news. One real estate company even went over to Wisp to capture the snowy scene and share it on their own social accounts.
Wisp does mention five inches of new snow in today’s mountain report.
Maybe they don’t need to spend time and energy on talking about our exciting snow because others do it for them…because the rest of Deep Creek is sharing tons of winter wonderland photos this morning. And maybe I don’t need to spend my time and energy worrying about it. But goodness, how can you not share about this beautiful snow!? A little snap from our woods…
Edited to add: Wisp did share a social post about the new snow around 3pm.
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
