get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!

I’m mostly bothered by the fact that I missed doing the Deep Creek Weekly Round-Up this week.
Oh but hey, hi, haven’t been here in a while…here in The Morning Coffee.
It’s Saturday morning at 8:30am. The house is quiet, I’m sitting at the dining room table enjoying my coffee…and the quiet. We’re leaving for soccer soon and then I have a wedding. I could have slept for two hours longer than I did, but this quiet time + coffee is worth sacrificing sleep. It’s a good way to start the day. You should try it sometime.
Back to the Deep Creek Weekly Round-Up…I’ve been so darn consistent with it! Going live on my @fortheloveofdeepcreek Instagram account every Thursday sharing info about what’s happening in Deep Creek. The weather forecast, things to do, events to attend…I hope people listen to it on their way to the lake for the weekend. For those that live here, I hope it gives them a glimpse into the local fun they could be having.
It takes me a little bit of time to make this happen. I research, make a list, go live, and then type it all out in three different online spaces. And this past week, I just did not have the time on Thursday. Hopefully my followers will forgive me. 🙂
But hey, let’s not dwell on that! Summer family session season is in full swing and I had some delightful groups this past week! They were all first timers to Deep Creek, coming from all over the US – Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, and California. I meet people from all over, sometimes even international visitors, and it still amazes me that Deep Creek will bring so many people from so far. This place has power.
I’ve also had a ton of weddings recently. From May 18th to today, I will have six weddings. Along the Youghiogheny River, on the Chesapeake Bay, in a black barn, at the WV Botanic Garden and an arcade, in a red barn, and finally a wedding at the couple’s home.
I really need to get better at blogging weddings. That’s going to take more time. Summer means less computer time, though. More time outside photographing families and weddings, and more time hanging with the kids and getting some summer adventures under our belts. So for anyone reading this that might also be sending me emails, response times will be slower. I do not have email on my phone, only on my computer. So I’m not always checking email and I’m not always ready to respond. I try to keep that to M-F between the hours of 8am and 4pm-ish. Do not fret if I do not respond in 24 hours. And for summer, do not fret if I do not respond with 72 hours.

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
