get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I met Shelby and Randy in January during some of the most beautiful winter conditions I can remember seeing. The skies were bluer than blue and the snow was whiter than white…AND sticking gloriously to everything in nature! It was truly a magical, wonderful WINTER WONDERLAND! And we were lucky to be in it for this session. 🙂 It was COLD…like 17 degrees cold. But Shelby and Randy didn’t mind one bit. They said they actually enjoyed the cold and that it “didn’t feel too bad”. I knew right away they were my kind of couple! Ready for an adventure! These two lovebirds, and I’m sure it’ll be clear in their pictures that are indeed IN LOVE, are getting married in May. They’ve had a shorter engagement and haven’t known each other long, but they are so sure and so excited for marriage. And I’m excited to be a part of it all! Enjoy this adventurous engagement session, all! 🙂
On my way to Shelby’s parents’ house, I drove through this. A snow-covered road enveloped in beautifully snow-covered trees. It was a SIGHT TO SEE! I was so happy when Shelby and Randy agreed to travel back to it for the first round of their pictures…
Â
Shelby and Randy were immediately ready for snuggling in front of the camera! How cute are they!?!
Â
Â
And how about his yellow cowboy boots! I encouraged him to consider wearing them on the wedding day, too. 🙂
Â
I couldn’t let them stand outside in 17 degrees without coats and hats for too long!
Â
A session favorite for me. 🙂
Â
Â
Â
On our way back to Shelby’s parents’ house, we HAD to stop here! The sun was harsher than I’d prefer, but how could we pass up those trees!? Was this real life!?! Were those trees really just 20 minutes from my house??
Â
The cat was sitting in such lovely light. 🙂
Â
Shelby and Randy LOVE coffee and wanted to incorporate that into the session. More snuggling was more than appropriate! 🙂
Â
And I just love the light that was pouring into the porch!
Â
These two are favorites for me, too…
Â
That blue sky! My goodness! Winterland perfection!
Â
Shelby and Randy are getting married in the middle of a field. Yep, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on her dad’s property. I’m pretty excited for it because it’s going to be different…and a little adventure, just like this engagement session. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
