get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I met Sara through her brother Billy. He and I have known each other for almost 25 years! CRAZY! We went to school together from kindergarten to senior year and have run into each other here and there since graduating. During the later years of our friendship, I met Sara. She and I had some mutual friends in our hometown and found ourselves hanging out from time to time. I remember nights out in Connellsville with her and even a trip to the beach! After I got married and moved away, our times of hanging out disappeared. And then her wedding brought us back together. 🙂
Sara emailed me fairly quickly after getting engaged and was a very excited bride. She knew what she wanted and didn’t want to wait super long to make things happen. She and Rob had a beautiful engagement session last summer and then a beautiful wedding this past December. I remember her being so thankful for the “being a bride” experience, her wedding day and her photography. She was another bride that completely trusted me and helped make my job easy.
Sara and Rob were married on December 13th and it was COLD! Snow didn’t fall from the sky like we hoped it would (always looks pretty in pictures!), but it was still a beautiful day. I loved the touches of red throughout their decor and the reception held at The Edgewood Club was casually elegant and appropriate for an almost-winter wedding. And Sara and Rob did wonderfully in front of the camera because they had practice from their engagement session…another way they made my job easy! Enjoy my favorites from their day. 🙂
My mom and I met with Rob and the guys first…
Love these next two of Rob getting ready…
Then it was time to meet Sara and her gals!
Ring bearer Eli stole the show from time to time. 🙂
Sara had such a beautiful glow about her that day. Sure, her professional make-up helped, but her sheer excitement and happiness is what really shone through…
A bridal portrait favorite!
Sara LOVES her nephew!
I was lucky enough to have some freedom at the church and could get “up close and personal” during the ceremony…
The church had beautiful stained glass windows that made for some lovely portraits!
Then it was on to The Edgewood Club! We were running out of daylight quickly, and it was cold! So we moved fast and got a lot done!
Love this portrait of Sara!
The outdoor lights at the door added a touch of romance and Christmas to the portraits…
Sara and Rob’s cookie table was one of the best I’ve seen…and tasted! 🙂 I especially loved the different plates and holders for the sweets.
And there’s Billy in the middle! My friend since kindergarten. 🙂 I went to high school with all three of these guys and we had fun catching up and hanging out at the wedding!
Such a romantic first dance…
I love when a venue provides interesting light situations so I can get both flash and natural-light pictures during the first dance…
The father-daughter dance was an emotional one…
Billy! I caught your dance moves on camera! And now they’re on my blog. 🙂
Sara was very excited about trying some outdoor pictures at night!
CONGRATS you two! And thanks a million for having me! You were VERY easy to work with and did a great job in front of the camera! Thanks for being so excited about your pictures and for trusting me. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
