get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I didn’t have a wedding this past weekend and I don’t have any new portrait sessions to share, so there’s not a ton going on at JFP this week. But I’m thankful for the break and chance to relax. I’ll call it the “calm before the storm” because between this upcoming weekend and the end of September, I have 13 weddings, two weeks of vacation, a trip to Maine and a trip to Ocean City. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like summer is already over when they look at their calendar?? Of course as any business owner knows it’s good to be busy, so I’m not complaining at all. I’m excited to shoot my summer weddings because I get to work with a bunch of new Morgantown, WV couples AND I’ll be shooting with a lot of couples who are super ideal for JFP. It’s going to be a great summer! 🙂
Since I don’t have a wedding to blog this week, I thought I might share one from last year. And what better wedding to show than that of Megan and Matt who are celebrating their one year anniversary today!
Megan and Matt were married at the beautiful CrossKeys Vineyard in Mt. Crawford, VA. It was my first visit to the vineyard and because it was only 10 minutes from our college (Megan and Matt also went to BC!), I couldn’t believe we hadn’t paid it a visit during our college years! Anyways, Megan and Matt had a beautiful day with perfect weather and lots of BC love. 🙂 Enjoy their 2011 wedding…
Megan was an absolutely STUNNING bride with good taste. 🙂
Megan and Matt’s initial reactions during their first look weren’t what caught my eye. It was their interactions and playful moments after that were fun to watch…
Megan and Matt got emotional during their vows…
Some of my most fave bridal portraits!
We were granted special permission to go down to the wine cellar for pictures. SO GLAD WE DID!!
JFP MUST: Have fun during wedding pictures! 🙂
Megan and Matt hosted quite the dance party!
LOVE this first dance moment!
Bridgewater College pride!
GREAT reception shot! It’ll go down in JFP history. 🙂
One of my best pictures…EVER! I was so proud of myself after taking this portrait. Looks like we were in a Mediterranean countryside, right??
Happy Anniversary, Megan and Matt! I hope you’re greatly enjoying married life and I hope this look back at your wedding day brings smiles and laughs! GO BC!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
