get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I met Lorena and Tim last spring when we did their engagement session in downtown Morgantown, WV. They were one of the first weddings I booked for 2014 and it seemed like their wedding day was SO FAR away! So when April 26th finally arrived, it was almost hard to believe that we were finally celebrating their wedding day.
I know Lorena and Tim had been planning for a while, and that they were really putting a lot of thought into their details…and it showed! Their vintage circus themed wedding was colorful and full of fun details, so it was a joy to photograph. Everyone was especially impressed with their reception room and I think Lorena and Tim deserve a big high five for all their work!
Thanks for putting together a beautiful day, Lorena and Tim. And thanks for the high priority you placed on your wedding pictures. I think we put together an awesome collection of images together! Enjoy. 🙂
Lorena and her bridesmaids made their bouquets! More and more of my couples are doing this these days…ordering flowers in bulk and then creating bouquets, boutonnieres and other floral arrangements on their own. It saves money and adds a special touch to the wedding decor!
Lorena looked like she stepped out of a wedding from the past. That hair, the veil, her lace gown, her red lips…perfect for the vintage look of the wedding!
Lorena and Tim opted for a first look before the ceremony so they could calm some nerves and gain some extra pictures. How about Tim’s initial reaction!?! Don’t you just love it!? He was enamored with Lorena and the way she looked. 🙂
One of my favorites from the wedding day. 🙂
The original plan was to have the ceremony outside, but the chances of rain were too risky. Don’t you just love the big, bright balloons!?! Very fitting for their theme!
Even though they saw each other before the ceremony, Tim was still excited and anxious to see Lorena come down the aisle. So cute. 🙂
We had to HURRY outside! The clouds were looming and the sprinkles of rain were starting to fall…
Going along with the circus theme…clown noses! Lorena and Tim used these during their engagement session, too! They also made great props at the photo booth inside the reception.
Selfies!
I love it when the guys wear “fun” socks. 🙂
Who’s idea was it to bring out the balloons!?! Lorena’s idea?? I don’t know who it was but THANK YOU!!! Perfect addition to the bride-groom portraits!!!
See those clouds? Yep, the rain finally arrived, so we hurried inside (with the super cute umbrella!) and took a few more portraits before the reception intro…
And how about this reception!?! Lorena and Tim did a fabulous job with all these details!
A popcorn table…
Circus animal crackers!
The photo booth! My mom was in charge of this during the reception and the guests LOVED it!
A vintage suitcase for the cards…
A custom-made circus-themed cake topper!
Vintage drink bottles…
You know the bride and groom are ready for a good time when they walk into their reception with beers-in-hand. 🙂
The end! Beautiful wedding, right!?! That’s two great weddings for the start of the 2014 JFP wedding season. I had another beautiful wedding this past weekend and am excited for two more this weekend! The “first busy season” of my busy season has officially started, so the blog is going to be FULL of lots of pretty pictures over the next two months. Make sure you come back real soon for more!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
