get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
After eight months of email conversations, I finally got to meet Liz and Erik last month. They currently live in Philadelphia and are planning a southwest PA wedding. So during one of their last visits “home” to do wedding planning, we met up for their engagement session! I love being able to meet my couples before the wedding day. We get to chat about life, our interests, the weather, whatever we want! It’s not the wedding day, we’re not rushing around and there’s no pressure to make sure everything happens perfectly. It’s just a relaxed, friendly environment…and I really enjoyed having that time with these two.
Liz and Erik are very kind people. They were easy to talk to and easy to work with. They’re September wedding is going to be awesome. π
We started the session with some Scrabble, which Liz and Erik love to play together…
Their dog Zulu also made quite a few appearances! π
I love the next few…highlighting Zulu a bit. π
Liz and Erik were pretty cute right from the start!
We explored the state forest during their session. I had recently shot a wedding (at this exact same spot) and was going to have a handful of sessions at Coopers Rock over the coming weeks. So I challenged myself not to use the same locations twice…or at least try to look at one location in a few different ways. Gotta keep things interesting as a photog returning to one location multiple times. π
Session favorite! Shows off Coopers Rock wonderfully!
Not sure why Erik wanted to put Liz in a head lock here, but it worked for a great picture. π
Before the session, Liz asked what we would do if it rained. She was surprisingly OK with some fun, rainy pictures so she and Erik brought rain jackets, rain boots and an umbrella. It wasn’t raining during their session, so we just played pretend. π
Time for some sports team support! The Patriots and Steelers…I guess that’s OK, as long as it’s not the Ravens and Steelers. π
Now for the Penguins and Bruins! Erik’s from Boston, so we let this one slide. π
Aren’t they super cute!?! π
Liz and Erik, thanks so much for taking time out of your busy and quick weekend at home. It was so great to finally meet you and I cannot wait for the big day in September! You guys were so easy to work with and you did wonderfully in front of the camera…so I know you’ll do just fine during the wedding. π
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreβ¦and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iβm not sure Iβm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayβ¦

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
