get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Lisa and Josh’s wedding will go down in the JFP history books as one of the most unique weddings of my time. Sure I’ve been to outdoor ceremonies before, but a ceremony in the middle of a state forest, surrounded by tall trees and dirt? Doesn’t happen often. And how about a wedding reception that takes over an entire restaurant…that’s on a rooftop? Again, not a common wedding occurrence.
Lisa and Josh love the outdoors and they wanted that displayed throughout their entire wedding day…and they succeeded. Not only did we trek through some mud and gather underneath a canopy of tall tree leaves when they said “I do”, but we were also welcomed by handmade wooden candles, mossy centerpieces and a stone guest book at the reception. Everything from start to finish, including Lisa’s most gorgeous and unique bridal details, was a dream to photograph. I was truly honored and grateful to be part of a such a beautiful event. 🙂
Enjoy a large abundance of my favorites from their day…
Lisa’s bridal details turned her into an Italian-Greek forest goddess…or at least that’s what I thought!
I’ve never seen a wedding dress like this! How about you!?!
Time for the first look at Woodburn Hall on WVU’s downtown campus…
Josh’s reactions were definitely photo-worthy…
After the first look, I asked them how it was. Josh said, “It was intense.” First time I’ve ever gotten that response. 🙂
After Woodburn Hall, we went to Coopers Rock where the ceremony was held. It was super important to Lisa and Josh that we get a few pictures at the overlook…
West Virginia sure is a beautiful place!
Found this gorgeous spot near the ceremony area. Loved the light and the abundance of greenery…
Thanks to Kristin for these shots! She’s a local photographer and is considering getting into wedding photography, so she tagged along for some experience and did a wonderful job. 🙂
Lisa and Josh did a fabulous job decorating the ceremony area…
Time to get married in this outdoor dream!
It rained during their ceremony, but we never got wet! The tall canopy of tree leaves covered us perfectly.
I told you it was an outdoor dream. 🙂
Kristin also took these…so cute!
Off to the Montmartre at the Clarion Hotel Morgan in downtown Morgantown! This is one of Lisa and Josh’s favorite restaurants and they had it all to themselves on the big day. How cool is that!?!
They definitely brought the outdoors in!
The outdoor rooftop area is where the dancing and toasts were held. So picture-perfect!
Lisa and Josh, your wedding was awesome…truly, a photographer’s dream! Thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into everything, especially the details…and for really making the ceremony area your own. I loved being a part of your outdoors-in wedding and I’m so glad we devoted so much time to your pictures. You two were fabulous and I hope you loved your wedding day! Thanks again and CONGRATS!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

I am a West Virginia native currently residing in Nashville, TN. I am considering Coopers Rock for a wedding next year. Any tips or suggestions? You have made this place look phenomenal!
Hi Michelle! Oh Coopers Rock is a lovely place for a wedding! I definitely suggest visiting the park beforehand and scoping out the possible areas. The place is so HUGE with so many pretty spots…and hidden ones, too! The overlook would be wonderful, but I’m not sure how that works…would you need to reserve it? There’s also a spot with a cabin-like-looking pavilion (and potties nearby!) that makes a nice ceremony location…I did a wedding at it last year! Here’s a blog post: http://jessicafikeblog.com/lisa-josh-coopers-rock-and-montmartre-restaurant-wedding-morgantown-wv-photographer/. If you need a photog for your wedding, holler! 🙂
Oh excuse me, I didn’t realize until after I responded that you replied on Josh and Lisa’s wedding post, so ignore that link…ha!
And one more thing…the park is absolutely beautiful at sunset, so if you can be sure to make things happen so you’re there during that time, you’ll get some stunning picture opps!
