get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Lauren and John drove all the way from northern VA to Morgantown, WV to meet me for their engagement session this past weekend…talk about dedicated and awesome clients! (Thanks a million for doing that you guys!!!) They wanted to take a road trip and get away from the congestion of the city, so they offered to come to me! I was so thankful that they were in town for two days because Saturday brought chilly temperatures and rain and we had to reschedule the session for Sunday morning. And boy am I so glad we did! It was a little on the colder side since we met at 8:30, but the early time and lower temps were well worth the gorgeous sunlight!
Lauren and John did absolutely FABULOUS during their session and I’m so glad we got some practice before their big day in October. They’re getting married at a beautiful vineyard in northern VA so I’ll know we’ll get some amazing pictures. Oh, and a side note…Lauren and I went to Bridgewater College together. She was a year older than me and we didn’t see each around campus much, but we knew who each other was. Crazy how getting married and a photography business has brought us back together! Enjoy my favorites from their beautiful session!
First stop…the WVU Erickson Alumni Center! I am sooooo glad I finally got to shoot an engagement session here! I drive past it a couple times a week and always admire the architecture and interesting elements. I just knew it would make a great photo location!
The next series is DEFINITELY A FAVE! The light and Lauren’s look…BAM!! I love it!!!
A little black and white film-ish look and the regular. These might be my top favorites from the session.
Lauren’s got such a beautiful, soft look. I cannot wait to capture this again on the wedding day!
We incorporated a second location into the session and shot a little longer than usual. It was the least I could do after they drove three hours to Morgantown for a little engagement road trip!
A little save-the-date action….
This is another fave from the session! The hand-painted hearts were so cute!
And to end the session, some Miami Dolphin fan support!
Lauren and John, thanks again for meeting me in Morgantown for your engagement session! I hope you had a great time visiting my new town! I’ll see you in October for the big day!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

We had a GREAT time, Jessica! Thanks for the extra time 🙂
Wow! These are really wonderful! I especailly love the photo of John and Laruen looksing straight on and holding the hearts. There is something very innocent and child-like about their expressions that I love! Takes a good photographer to capture that!
