get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Kristina and Travis were my first southwest PA wedding of the year. I always enjoy shooting in southwest PA because it’s where I grew up and I usually end up seeing a bunch of people I know and haven’t seen in a long time. I did in fact see people I knew at Kristina and Travis’s wedding including the guy who used to own the store down the street from my home where my friend Tia and I would frequent during the summer months. He remembered me and said I hadn’t changed a bit! Anyways, it was nice being back in the old stompin’ grounds. 🙂
Because my mom was curious about the venue and didn’t have a wedding of her own, she joined me as a second shooter. (If things go as planned, she’ll be joining me a lot next year, but that’s for another post about me adding second shooters to my wedding packages!) We were both impressed with how friendly Kristina and Travis’s families were and thought the wedding turned out to be a very nice event. Kristina was very excited about the details she and her mom put together and of course I had fun photographing them! Here are some of my favorites from their big day in the mountains of Pennsylvania at Penn Scenic!
Caught my mom in action!
My mom’s actually hiding in this picture. Can anyone find her???
Haley was such a good flower girl. She seemed so mesmerized with Kristina as a bride.
So glad my mom found out that each of the guys’ hats were sewn with a special fabric just for them!
Kristina found a seamstress in Washington (from Etsy!) that made custom hats. She and Travis found fabrics to make the hats even more custom so each one would be unique and personal. What a neat idea!
This detail is definitely a big hit at the weddings this year…
So glad I caught this little flower girl moment…:)
What a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot!
The officiant invited all guests to surround the ceremony spot and that made for a very neat exit after Kristina and Travis were declared married.
This was my mom’s idea! Thanks, mom. 🙂
My mom captured the one on the left while I was getting the one on the right.
Love the glowing light in the next few…
Time for the reception and all the details put together by Kristina and her mom!
They even made custom silverware holders for the wedding party table!
Kristina’s dad wrote a song for her for her wedding day. One of the groomsmen, Jesse, sang the song while Kristina read the lyrics specially framed for her to keep forever. It was a beautiful song and I was very impressed!
Time for the bridal dance!
So my Pocket Wizards aren’t the most reliable things when it comes to off-camera flash (thinking about getting the new Canon flashes!), but sometimes I end up with accidentally cool-looking pictures like this!
In bridal dance tradition, the guests, mostly the groomsmen, are to keep the groom from getting to his bride. Travis’s guys did a pretty good job and he put up a pretty big fight!
Eventually Travis got to his bride and they were gifted with the money collected during the dance.
CONGRATS Kristina and Travis! Thanks a million for having both my mom and I at your wedding. You were wonderful to work with and had a very beautiful wedding in the mountains!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

Hey!
I was wondering if you could put me in contact with the bride and groom from this Penn Scenic View wedding. I am getting married there in July and would love to ask her some questions about her day!
Thanks,
Olivia
