get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I first met Kelly and Jared on the wedding day. Kelly booked me via email and was hoping she might be able to talk Jared into an engagement session. The engagement session didn’t happen, and while I was bummed that we wouldn’t get to meet each other and practice before the big day, Kelly’s confidence and enthusiasm about her photography made me feel confident that we’d be okay. 🙂 Kelly and Jared were extremely friendly and they made time for their photography. I got to photograph Kelly and her maids in her beautiful, well-lit childhood bedroom, Jared and his groomsmen were very tolerant of their picture-taking duties and they were willing to go to great lengths to include two locations and get the pictures they really wanted. I think the end result is quite fabulous and I’m excited to share this wedding with you!
When I walked into Kelly’s room, she had three important dresses hanging and ready for pictures. 🙂
I love the moment on the right…
Kelly saved an invitation for me to photograph!
Two more cute flower girl moments. 🙂
Time to get Kelly dressed! So many awesome getting ready pictures from her childhood bedroom!
LOVE THIS ONE!!
LOVE the bridal portrait on the left!
The bridesmaids “fluffing” always makes for a nice portrait!
A favorite for me!
Mama pinning the boutonniere. 🙂
From my second shooter, Jamie!
Happy Jared ready for his bride. 🙂
Another one from my second shooter!
This church photographs so beautifully from the balcony!
Holding their rings. 🙂
Time to be married!
Capturing the moments in between. 🙂
Love the composition from my second shooter on the left. And the picture on the right…pretty sure that wedding guest just introduced himself as Kelly’s ex-boyfriend. 🙂
Jamie, this is one of my favorite pictures from the day! Thanks for the capture!
Taking advantage of the stained glass windows…
First we went to Jared’s parents’ house for some fun and formals. It was a HOT day so thankfully we found shade!
We have fun here at JFP. 🙂
More bridal portraits of the beautiful, flawless Kelly…
I really like the one on the right!
Then we found this spot! THAT LIGHT!!!
College cuff links!
Jared and his twin brother were a pitcher-catcher duo during their baseball days, so Kelly wanted some pictures at a local ball field…
Love this one from Jamie!
Another great shot from Jamie! So thankful for her angle!
And now for the reception! I’ve been to many fire/social hall receptions but have never seen one decorated like THIS!
What a grand and elegant entrance, especially for a fire hall!
Look at all those details! Ruffle skirting, beads hanging from the ceiling, silk napkins, sequin linens…
I heard from a few people that there were 400 people at this reception! That’s impressive!
While dinner was served, I stepped outside to catch some fading natural light for my ring shots…
The sequin linens made a lovely backdrop!
The dance floor was challenging to photograph…so many people! Young and old. 🙂
The Burless-Feathers family! I did Tiffany and Jon’s wedding last November and LOVED working with them! So cool seeing former JFP couples at weddings! 🙂
Time for the money dance! Mom was up first!
After the LONG line of guests danced with Kelly, the wedding party gathered around and kept Jared from getting her…or at least they tried. 🙂
Thank you, Kelly and Jared, for not only having me as your photographer, but for also trusting me! It was wonderful working with you and it was a joy to photograph your beautiful wedding! CONGRATS and have fun!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
