get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Kelly and Anthony were married in late August in the Laurel Highlands area of Southwest PA. If you ask me, the entire area is somewhat of a “hidden gem” when it comes to wedding venues, attractions and beautiful places. But in my opinion, there’s one place in particular that stands out and needs a little more room to shine.
The Historic Summit Inn in Farmington, PA. It’s a resort that includes an old hotel building, two pools, a golf course, treehouse, ballrooms and restaurants for events and eating, a spacious balcony and deck area, and a beautiful view of nearby Uniontown. I actually had my junior prom at the Summit Inn and finally returned for a wedding last year…more than 10 years later! I was lucky enough to visit again during this wedding season and I look forward to going back many times in the future. The staff is nice and works hard, the grounds are very pretty, the venue is surrounded by mountains and trees, and the large ballroom photographs wonderfully! Overall, two thumbs up in my book…and worth a visit to anyone that’s traveling the Laurel Highlands. 🙂
Kelly loves the Wizard of Oz and wanted to incorporate that into the wedding day as much as she could, without going overboard. So she and her tiniest flower girl wore “ruby red slippers”, the dinner tables were dressed with blue and white checked centerpieces and the bridesmaids wore yellow…maybe for the yellow brick road? 😉 Her theme was tastefully done and went so well with the beautiful flowers, her sparkly gown and the historic charm of the Summit Inn. Enjoy my favorites from she and Anthony’s August wedding!
The “ruby red slippers”! 🙂 Kelly actually made these herself! Very impressive!
Blue and white checked garters!
How cute are the tiny red shoes!?!
Joy of Beauty by Joy does FAB work!!!
Love this styled shot of Anthony’s groom details!
Beautiful shot from my mom!
Kelly finished putting on her final touches at the church…
Thanks for these next two, mom!
Some sweet smiles during their vows. 🙂
The stained glass window in the back of the church was BEAUTIFUL!!
A favorite bride-groom portrait for sure!
Outside at the Summit for fun and formals with the whole group! So glad I found this spot out back so we could escape the harsh sunlight and the other weddings taking place…
A new favorite bridesmaid portrait. 🙂
And the boys decided to whip out some dance moves…completely unprompted!
Love this bridal portrait of Kelly. 🙂
Time for the treehouse! This structure was featured on Animal Planet’s Treehouse Masters!
On our way back to the Summit, I KNEW we had to stop here!!!!
A BIG favorite for me!
A special thank you to my good buddy, Jeremiah, for driving us out to the treehouse! He and I went to high school together and always had a locker next to each other. He and his wife now run the Summit and it’s so cool to reunite with him every so often! 🙂
Kelly and Anthony gave their guests a “cheesy favor”…get it?? 🙂
It wouldn’t be a southwest PA wedding without a COOKIE TABLE!!! 🙂
If you look closely, you can see the “famous” view of Uniontown between the mountains. It wasn’t super clear that day, but it still makes a pretty picture!
Anthony was quite the dancer during the reception!
Haha…great moment! 🙂
Kelly and Anthony, CONGRATS! Thanks so much for inviting me to hang out with your Pittsburgh families and for allowing me to capture your special day! It was so nice to spend a day in the mountains with you guys and the Summit made a lovely place for your big event!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

A lot of beautiful shots. I especially like the outdoor ones with the sun’s rays coming through the trees.
