get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Tomorrow is June 20th…and that means my good friend Chris is getting married! AND that means I get to be a guest at a wedding! Woo hoo! I’m sure all other wedding photographers, actually, probably even ALL wedding vendors, can relate with me here. We love our jobs and we love attending and working at dozens of weddings every year. But every once in a while, it’s nice to sit back, relax and really enjoy a wedding with no responsibilities and no pressure. And that’s exactly what I get to do tomorrow! Hollleerrr!! 🙂 Tomorrow also means the last weekend before the busiest part of my busy season. From June 27th to August 1st, I have six weddings back-to-back. I don’t like to oversaturate any part of my calendar, but it always seems to happen at some point during wedding season. It’s been nice to kick off the busy part of my busy season with a relaxing June. When I first started shooting weddings almost six years ago, June was a popular, busy month for me. I have one June wedding this year, but had three last year! It’s so interesting to see the date trends change from year to year. But one thing seems to remain true: my June weddings are always beautiful. The following JFP couples are celebrating their first wedding anniversaries…so this post is for them! Three beautiful June weddings with three wonderful couples. June 2014 was a good month for JFP. 🙂
First up, Danielle and Eric. They were married at the beautiful North Glade Inn near Deep Creek Lake and I was so excited to finally shoot at this venue! I was also very excited to get Danielle and Eric back in front of the camera because they were such gems during their engagement session. I knew it was going to be a good day…and it was. Happy Anniversary, Danielle and Eric!

Casey and Chad were married on June 14th at Black Bear Resort in Davis, WV. The day was full of blue skies and sunshine (completely opposite from their snowy engagement session), which was perfect for their outdoor reception on a large wooden deck. Casey and Chad were so easy to work with and I loved the relaxed atmosphere of their outdoor wedding. Happy Anniversary, Casey and Chad!

And last but definitely not least, Mary and Tyler. Oh this wedding…it was such a fave. It was so different than anything I’ve ever photographed before and I loved it! Mary and Tyler were married on top of a mountain in Dolly Sods, WV with a small group of their closest friends and family by their side. It was a day full of amazing views and adventure. Happy Anniversary, Mary and Tyler!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
