get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
A prospective bride recently asked me what the coolest, most unique wedding I’ve photographed was. A great question, but not one that I’m asked often, so I had to think.
Jocelyn and Justin’s wedding! Of course! They were married this past August and just so happen to be the next wedding in my blogging queue. Pretty perfect timing!
Jocelyn and Justin were married in the heart of Pittsburgh. Their church ceremony took place on Mt. Washington, along with their first look. Then, their reception took place on a boat! A moving boat! We cruised up and down two of the three rivers in Pittsburgh for dinner and dancing, and then “parked” at the point where the three rivers meet for the Pirates fireworks show. It was a wedding my mom and I will never forget. It’s not often that we get to ride on a boat for a reception, let alone top things off with a fireworks spectacular in a beautifully lit city. Oh, and Jocelyn and Justin. They were awesome. So friendly, so accommodating. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day!
This was our view out of the window while photographing the bridal details. We knew it was going to be a good day when we saw this!
LOVE this groom portrait! Justin was beaming all day!
Beautiful, calm Jocelyn. 🙂
How cute is Justin’s mom!?!
After everyone was ready to go, we headed to Mt. Washington for Justin and Jocelyn’s first look. Such an amazing view of the city, and quite a backdrop for their first official portraits of the wedding day!
Can you spot PNC Park and Heinz Field!?! Go Pirates! Go Steelers!!
So much swagger. 🙂
Time for them to meet!
My mom captured this one!
I love stepping back with my zoom lens and capturing moments like this!
One of my favorites from their day! Actually, probably one of my favorite bride-groom portraits of the year!
I hung out with the wedding party and their families in the basement of the church waiting for the ceremony to begin…and I’m so glad I did! It was cooler, yes, but so many great moments happened…
AAAHHH! LOVE THIS PICTURE!!! How precious. 🙂
Then the boating adventure began!
Justin and Jocelyn are musicians, so a few nods to music were placed throughout their reception…
And what’s a Pittsburgh wedding without a cookie table!?!
Go Penguins!!!
There were so many stunning views from the boat during our trip! My mom and I could hardly sit still!
Parked and ready for the fireworks show! I didn’t realize how beautiful the city is all “dressed up” at night!
So romantic. 🙂
Thank you, Justin and Jocelyn for an AWESOME day! From the Google maps explanation of where we’d be in the city to the numerous car rides up and down Mt. Washington, you guys were so great! It was a pleasure working with you and like I said above, your wedding is one that my mom and I will never forget! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
