get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Christmas time truly is a season of giving. We buy gifts to give to our friends and family. We bake dozens of cookies to give away at holiday parties and home gatherings. We give money to local charities and fire departments to help those in need. In light of this season, I’ve decided to put something special together for JFP to join in on the giving…
Introducing…
JFP’s Five Days of Giveaways!
I’m no Oprah with an hour-long TV show filled with expensive, luxurious goodies and I’m definitely not Ellen with twelve days of giveaways, dancing elves and hilarious monologues. But I can still spread some holiday cheer and give to all of you – my blog followers, my fans, my supporters, my clients. You help make JFP what it is, so I’m saying THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS with five days of gift-giving!
Here’s the plan:
Each day this week, starting today, there will be a giveaway here on the blog. I’ll share details as early as possible and choose one winner each day. To be eligible, all you need to do is comment on the day’s blog post…and be sure to enter your email address when filling out the comment info (I’ll need a way to reach you)! If I receive 25 comments, I’ll choose a winner at random. BUT, I MUST receive 25 comments in order to give the gift away. So, to help those numbers, feel free to share the blog post on your Facebook wall, Twitter, Instagram or email it to some of your friends and family, especially those that you think would really enjoy the gift. You’ll have until midnight each day to comment on the blog post and I’ll contact the winner the next morning.
So let’s start JFP’s Five Days of Giveaways with gift number one! A seat to the “Cabin Fever” Photog Q&A event!
On Friday, January 3rd, I’m opening my home to photography enthusiasts and small business owners for a casual, relaxed, cozy evening by the fire…and an evening to just get out and do something photography-related amidst all the holiday fluff and cold weather that maybe has been keeping your camera still on the shelf. Kick the “cabin fever”, if you will. 🙂 We’ll talk shooting, lighting, equipment, branding, marketing…whatever you want! You bring the questions and I’ll answer! It’s an open-forum type event with lots of freedom for the attendees to make the Q&A what they want it to be! We can talk basics or we can talk professional. Again, it’s whatever YOU the attendees want it to be! Here are the event details…
Friday, January 3, 2014
My home in Garrett County, MD (45 minutes east of Morgantown, WV, 45 minutes south of Uniontown, PA, one hour west of Cumberland, MD)
6 to 9pm
$30 per person, limit to 15 persons
Anyone that has any interest in photography or starting a small photography business is welcome! Whether you’re just starting out with your DSLR or have been in business for a handful of years, I invite you to come! There will be warm beverages and sweets…and of course, a fire!
AND there are sponsors with goodies! Zenfolio, Paper Hearts Invitations & Design, Beth Burd Social Marketing & Business Promotion and Beauty by Joy are all providing goodies for each of the 15 attendees. From design services to online hosting and even a makeup bonus, I’m excited to share such businesses and so grateful for their generosity! So lots of goodies and a HUGE opportunity for you to come and get all those pesky photography and business questions answered! And one of these seats will be given away for FREE as part of JFP’s Five Days of Giveaways!
So here are three things for you to do:
Enter the giveaway by commenting on this post!
Share the blog post link so 25 comments can be reached and a winner can be chosen!

Are you excited about this season of giving!?! I am! Here’s a little more holiday cheer for ya as we continue to enjoy this wonderful season and get closer and closer to Christmas Day…
I met with Casey and Chad for their engagement session yesterday at the beautiful Swallow Falls in Garrett County, MD and am loving what I’m seeing from their snowy session so far! Here’s a peek…
I hope you’ll leave a comment and come back tomorrow for day two of JFP’s Five Days of Giveaways! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

I love your blogs. You should do a seminar on how to blog the right way!
Love this snowy session! The red coat was so perfect :).
Very cute pics! Swallow falls is always a great place for pictures, can’t wait to see the pictures you do for Baby Fratz in the near future!
Ahh, love the snow! This makes me want a snow engagement session even more! Too bad Virginia weather won’t cooperate 🙂
I feel slighted as well Rach! Leaves are like so old news! Haha! She did great on this!
I would love to hang out with you for an evening and discuss photography! Love your pics!
Love these snowy pictures!
Enjoy seeing your photos. Was glad you allowed me to also shoot at Ryan and Dee Dee’s wedding. Would love to hear what you have to say about photography.
What a great idea! Your pics are amazing as always!
Love snowy pictures!
Thank you so much! Love it!
These photos are amazing!!! Not just because I’m in on the 25 days of giving, but the red just pops!!! Amazing day of snow, how lucky they are….I want a redo!!! Haha jk! Great work as always JFP!
Omg, 5 days of giving not 25 hahaha! Wow I almost had you confused with Ellen! 😉
Of course Stacie makes me comment, stunning photography as always!!! Simply impressive!
Your photos are always beautiful. However, I must say, my all time favorite photo shoot was when you took delivery room pics. I wish I would have thought of that when I had Abrielle last October. If I win, I would give this prize to my niece, Sarah, who is a new and inspiring photographer. It would be the perfect opportunity for her!
I love the scenery in these photos. Absolutely gorgeous! I am the niece of Jamie Kamp who has commented above and I must thank her for showing me your site! Your work is fabulous!

What a fun idea! This would be a perfect gift for my brother’s girlfriend. Love your blog!

I love your photography… and this E-shoot is no different. Absolutely stunning! And I would love to talk with you about expanding my photog business and share stories and experiences!
I’d love to join your photog gathering! I’ll comment further tomorrow when I’m at my computer. Btw – I love your Swallow Falls shoot, it’s one of my favorite places!
