get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Jack is currently six weeks old and I’m just now sharing his newborn portraits. Doing regular JFP things hasn’t been super easy since this guy was born, so I haven’t been able to blog or edit much…hence my being behind. It’s driving me just a little crazy, but I’m trying not to do too much at once or put a ton of pressure on myself during this new season of life. Being a mommy of two doesn’t leave a lot of spare time for such things! Anyways…
Jack’s newborn portraits are a little simpler than the ones I normally take. Getting him all ready for pretty, sleepy, snuggly portraits and then actually making them happen within that ideal two-week window didn’t really come together the way I had hoped. But I still got some good portraits of my new little guy and I’m excited to share them!
So here’s my Mr. Magoo/Jack-a-rooni just over four weeks ago…
He “rocked the hawk”, as he does most days. 🙂
Sleepy, snuggly portraits are also hard when your subject won’t actually stay asleep!
I’ll consider this one a blooper. 🙂
He was wearing a newborn onesie then and now he’s wearing three-month clothes!
Jack’s got a great head of hair. 🙂
A little sleepy smile! 🙂
So not the normal newborn presentation, but it’ll have to do! I’m planning to take monthly portraits of Jack, so if you’re a blog follower and lover of babies, be on the lookout for future posts of my little man!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

Wow Lana, these are just beautiful, I’m eespcially struck by the first dress shot and the landscape of them holding hands undeerneath the tree, with the soft green tones.
Jo-Ann McMunn (Gramma) – I can’t begin to express how I feel about these pretuics and your way with newborns! You are simply and extremely awesome at what you do. Congratulations on capturing the essence of the newborn that brings tears of love and joy to family members such as myself. Of course I want the entire slide show! Might I add your subject is one of the most adorable babies ever!
