This past weekend I said no. I said no to a weekend away with friends to stay at home. I said no to an opportunity of fun and celebration after a long week of working my small biz and being a stay-at-home mom. A road trip with my college roomie, time to catch up and tell stories, getting all dressed up and hitting the town, enjoying good food, good drinks and good company…I said no to it all…and said yes to them…

Things change when you get married and they change again when you have kids. All of sudden your previous priorities become less important and all you want to do is be a mommy and a wife. Even if it’s just lying on the couch watching movies, you want to be there. The thought of missing out on that precious time makes you feel crappy and you realize you’ll be happiest at home. Friends are still super important and you’re thankful to have them in your life for support and fun. But family comes first and it’s hard to say no to them. I’m glad I said yes! 🙂
