get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
2013 has come and gone. Does anyone else agree that it went insanely fast!?! I talk about it often, but time really does fly! (And remember, when you have kids, it goes even faster!) One minute we’re celebrating Christmas and the next we’re prepping for summer! I sure do hope this winter goes relatively quickly. Not only am I a little nervous about the amount of snow we may receive here in Garrett County (I’ve somewhat dubbed it the “North Pole of Maryland”), but I’m also anxious for what the warmer months of 2014 hold. We’ll have our baby boy, a new wedding season will be in full swing and it’ll be our first spring/summer in our new house. I’m definitely looking forward to dinners on the porch, afternoons playing in the yard, journeys through the woods, and just experiencing this area during the hustle and bustle of the summer lake season. But before I wish time away too quickly, I’m going to remember some of the highlights of 2013…
Finding out we were pregnant with baby #2! And then discovering he was a boy. 🙂
Building and moving into our new home (so much great work done by my husband!)
Going to the Bahamas for my first international destination wedding
Ally starting pre-school
Spending summer days by the pool at my parents’ house and at the apartment neighborhood with friends
Photographing my first birth
Being part of the MOPS steering team
Photographing so many wonderfully-detailed weddings with so many wonderful couples
I may be forgetting a few things, but a lot happened in 2013 and  those are things that stuck out to me most. I’m super excited to see what 2014 has in store, especially with the arrival of our little guy! He’s due on February 7th, but Brian, myself and the doctors think he may come sometime in January. Until then, we’ll enjoy our little three-year-old and her crazy ways. 🙂 Happy 2014, everyone!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

A few years ago, one of our local residents, Mac Vorce, who is also a bicycle enthusiast petitioned for the development of bicycle paths and
