get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
This is post #2 in my little tribute to the new year. I started off with a post of wedding favorites from 2012 and a contest, which has gotten over 12,000 votes and has completely blown my mind…so THANK YOU to everyone that has visited, voted and shared. ๐ And now I’m going to continue (and essentially end since today is the last day of 2012) with an idea I got from a fellow photographer…
Richmond, VA photographer Tori of Marvelous Things Photography, recently asked her readers for some feedback on what they’d like to see on her blog. I love this idea because not only is my blog something for me, it’s also something for you. When I started this blog earlier this year, I made the commitment to blog as much as I could…whether it be information relevant to me, my clients, my family or my friends, I was going to blog and give my readers something new to look forward to…and do it often! So I know what I enjoy writing about and sharing, but what do you enjoy?? What don’t you enjoy?? I want to know what you think! If you’d answer at least one of these questions in a comment below, I’d greatly appreciate it! Just one more step into making 2013 better than 2012 for both me and my followers! ๐
1. What kinds of posts are your most favorite and which are your least favorite when reading my blog?? (personal, portrait sessions, weddings, business-related, recipes, etc.)
2. What would you like to see more of?? (pictures, personal stories, teaching, recipes, etc.)
3. What keeps you coming back for more at the JFP blog??
And to round out this post and this year, here are some pictures I recently took of the holiday and winter beauty that still surrounds us…
Don’t forget to answer my questions in a comment below. I’d really love to know what you’d like to see on my blog! ๐ Happy New Year!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iโm not sure Iโm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

I want that pic of ally by tree for me phone but I don’t know how to get it as krista is not here
I love the blog (and all your fabulous work) and I can’t wait to see our wedding on it in August :)!!! Happy New Year!
Awe thanks, Katie! Everyone else must love the blog too because there aren’t any comments! I’ll see you again in August. ๐
Love your blog, too, Jess! Would you be interested in doing a What I Wore Friday with me?! Let’s face it, many Fridays are sweat pants and a tee, but it could be fun!
Thank ya, thank ya! Hhhmm not sure about that…I’ll let you know. ๐ I think I may already have too many different blog series for now! Would definitely be fun, though…
And, yes, Ally by the tree eating a treat is TOO MUCH! love it. ๐
The wedding posts are my favorite of course, and second the engagement sessions, and then I cannot forget the maternity sessions! But I love reading your personal entries too! I love the inside look at your photography!
Well thanks, Heather! You’re definitely one of my biggest fans! Thanks for your feedback and support. ๐
My favorite posts are “personal” posts. I really enjoy seeing pictures of Ally and your home life (like the pictures on this post). And I loved reading about how you find time for your business. A close second would probably be seeing your portrait sessions. Your pictures are always so inspiring! ๐
I would also love to hear any ideas on how you get good lighting on indoor photos if you’d like to share…
Hi Keely! Thanks for visiting and sharing some feedback. Personal posts definitely seem to be a favorite. If you’d like to email me with questions about indoor lighting or anything else, please feel free to do so! jessica@jessicafikephotography.com…it’s easier for me to do such things there instead of here. Thanks again!
