While we were on vacation in Emerald Isle, NC last month, I got up before 6:30 am during our last full day to catch the sunrise. My hubs of course thought I was a bit crazy and sarcastically asked if I could do my best not to wake him up while I was getting up…ha! But I’m glad I sacrificed a morning of sleeping in on vacation because a beach sunrise is unlike any other.
When I first stepped onto the beach, it was a bit dark and I was often looking over my shoulder to make sure there were no “crazies” coming my way. But then I soon realized there were lots of vacationers on their balconies, back decks and on the beach watching the sunrise just like me…and instead I felt peaceful and safe. The colors were unreal, the water was warm and it was a beautiful experience that I recommend to all beach-goers. Even if you get up for just a few minutes and then head back to bed, it’s totally worth it!
After I finished shooting the sunrise, I enjoyed a cup of coffee, my book, the rocking chairs on our balcony, and the peaceful sounds of morning. Definitely a good choice. 🙂
It was pretty dark when I first got out there…hence my fear of the “crazies” that could be lurking. I hate the dark.
Fun fact: I have BIG feet…mostly size 11, somtimes size 10. I love shoes, but kinda hate shoe shopping!

I didn’t realize there’d be so much “action” in the sky even 15 minutes before the sun was due to set. It seemed to take forever, but it was such a peaceful atmosphere…

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
