Deep Creek
It really is a great place to get engaged...
After she said yes on a snowy morning during their lakefront weekend getaway...
We've got waterfalls! And of course they make for a great proposal backdrop.
There's also places around the shoreline if you want to be at the lake.
Or maybe you just step outside and propose in the backyard of where you're staying.
Deep Creek has plenty of beautiful places where you can make things happen. And if you'd like it captured, we can very easily make that happen too!
Getting engaged at Deep Creek + Garrett County, MD
When I think about this proposal, I think FROSTY.
The early winter conditions were just so beautiful. The lake had started freezing over, we had gotten a little snow and the trees had some frost on them. It was also near sunset so the soft evening glow draped so nicely across the frosty conditions.
Jonathan planned a dinner at Dutch's at Silver Tree but wanted to take quick family snaps at the shoreline beforehand. I pretended to be a random photographer capturing the lake scene, stepped in and offered to take a group photo for them and that was Jonathan's cue to pop the question. It was also the family's cue to step away and let the moment happen (they were in on the surprise too).

Just a beautiful diamond in the snow because we can highlight the ring, too.
He proposed on a boat! So very Deep Creek perfect...
We needed a quiet cove and dry spot for me to hide. Enter my friend Kasey and Penn Cove. I hid in her boat, instructed Carter where to settle the boat, and worked the zoom lens as the big moment happened.
The sun was shining, the was water calm and there were no other moving boats around. PERFECT.
Carter drove the boat back to where he and Olivia were staying and surprised her with their families. They enjoy wakeboarding together at Deep Creek so we took some photos with their boards.
