get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
It’s always fun meeting other photographers. You can talk about equipment, your businesses, the latest editing software, and share triumphs and tribulations with someone who “gets it”. It’s just an all-around neat connection to make. But when another photographer asks you to take pictures of them, while still fun, it’s a little nerve-racking. Suddenly there’s a little bit of pressure involved and you feel like you’re being tested! But Christine never made me feel that way. We didn’t talk as much “shop” as we could have and that was probably a good thing since I needed to concentrate on photographing not only her, but her husband, their two dogs and her mom and sister. I sort of forgot that Christine was a photographer during the session and I liked that our initial interaction wasn’t all about photography and business.
So my session with Christine’s family was very relaxed and casual, and I really liked it! Even though I’m not used to photographing six people in a one hour session, everything went really well. We met at the recently popular Friendship Hill historic site in Point Marion, PA and used a couple different areas that I hadn’t yet explored. It was a warmer December afternoon and the evening light was just gorgeous!
We had a nice mix of pictures with the dogs…
…and without the dogs. Gotta show a little husband and wife love flying solo. 🙂
And then we brought in Christine’s mom and sister for some family love!
They did a pretty good job at looking at each other, smiling and making it look natural and casual!
The picture on the left is so simple, but one of my favorites from the session!
A little change of scenery and light…
There’s the beautiful, glowing, evening light, y’all!!!
I just love these colors! I bet this would look pretty awesome on a huge canvas on their living room wall! 🙂
A few more of the lovely couple before the evening sun ducked behind the horizon…
This was mom’s request…so cute!
And can you believe it!?! Mom also wanted to do a jumping picture! I don’t mind spicing things up a bit. 😉
Christine, thanks so much for having me! I’m glad we were able to put together a nice session for your family. This was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable sessions of my fall season! ENJOY the pictures, thanks for talking a little bit of “shop” with me and also for trusting me, another photographer, with your family portraits. Hopefully we’ll meet up again sometime soon!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

the first two pictures underneath where you say “change of scenery and light”, the light is tremendous and beautiful in those two (the light is gorgeous throughout the session) and are my two favorite 🙂
Thanks, Heather! Glad to see you saw the beautiful change, too. 🙂
