get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Carolyn and Ben are getting married TOMORROW! Their West Virginia winter wedding will take place in Preston County and will include two different farms, one of which I visited this past fall for their engagement session…
They aren’t getting married at the farms, but I’ll be meeting Carolyn at one while she gets ready and I’ll meet Ben at the other while he gets ready. The two of them currently live on one of the farms (pictured below) and because “farm life” is such a big part of their lives, it’s very appropriate that I meet them in such an environment.
Carolyn has been especially excited about their farmhouse since day one of our photography conversation. She explained to me that she simply fell in love with the old charm of it and couldn’t wait to show me around. She knew she wanted to include it in both their engagement and wedding pictures because it speaks so well to who they are as a couple. They help take care of the land and all the animals, and they’ve really seemed to make it their own during this beginning stage of their journey…
One of my favorites from their session. They had no problem snuggling! 🙂
This spot was too perfect to pass up! The warm glow coming in from behind the trees and the wildflowers sprinkled throughout the field made for such a beautiful combination…
One of Ben’s biggest responsibilities on the farm is to take care of the cattle. As we entered the pasture where the cows were located, they immediately noticed Ben and followed when he called for them. It was such a neat experience for this “city girl”, or at least that’s what Brian thinks of me. 🙂
They had their “other animals” to include in the session, too. 🙂
Some sweet moments on their front porch…
Lastly, Carolyn wanted some pictures of she and Ben enjoying some coffee inside their home. I received the grand tour, we talked about the perfect spots for some bridal portraits (there’s some good light in that old house!) and then they snuggled up for one final round of pictures…
And one last request from Carolyn… 🙂 Pictures of her oh-so-special ring!
Thanks so much for being such awesome hosts, Carolyn and Ben! I loved seeing your farm and seeing how important everything at the farm is to you guys. I’m excited to come back tomorrow!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
