get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
I met Andrea through weddings at Wisp Resort here in Garrett County and she’s helped me in my journey to becoming an experienced wedding photographer in the area. She’s the wedding/event coordinator at the resort and while I’ll be seeing her less this wedding season, it’s for good reason! She’s expecting a baby this summer! 🙂 It was nice to get her in front of the camera, especially since all our work together so far has been “behind the scenes” kind of teamwork. She and husband Josh invited me to her parents’ farm in Garrett County, or “Egypt” as Andrea likes to call it, and it was a lovely location for their session. It was quiet, it was private and it was full of wonderful photo spots…especially the mountaintop, which you’ll see in the second half of this post!
Before I even got out of the car, I spotted the forsythia and knew it would be our first stop! Andrea’s light hair and navy blue dress went so well with the bright yellow…
Andrea wanted to head to the mountaintop next, but we were unexpectedly blocked by some trees that were recently cut down. After a few phone calls and a sweet request from niece to uncle, the roadway to the mountaintop was cleared! While we waited, we took advantage of Andrea’s aunt’s backyard (they live on her parents farm property, too!)…

I am so glad Andrea chose a maxi dress for the session! Maxi dresses and baby bumps make such an awesome combination! 🙂
A session favorite for me! 🙂
I could tell within the first 30 minutes of hanging out with these two that they have lots of fun together! 🙂
Â
After a little off-roading and a bear siting, we made it to the mountaintop! AND THERE WAS THE MOST GORGEOUS LIGHT!!!!
This warm glowy light was such a blessing! Just minutes before it was cloudy and there was very little hope for sun. But God provided! 🙂
Another favorite!
Favorite! 🙂
I always try to challenge my couples and encourage some serious, more moody portraits if they’re up for it. Josh and Andrea did well. 🙂
That view and that light!
Â
This blanket was from Andrea’s grandfather who just recently passed away. I had brought my own blankets to use during the session, but knew this one would be way more appropriate!
Â
Love these portraits of Andrea! 🙂
AH! The light!!! You just don’t see this enough!!!
FAVORITE!!!
Â
Aaahhhh such a dreamy session. A couple that could laugh and be serious in front of the camera and the most beautiful, glowy sunset light! What more could a photographer ask for!?! Thanks so much for having me, Andrea and Josh! And good luck with the upcoming arrival of little Gabriel! Maybe we should do an “update session” at the mountaintop next year and include the new little one!? 😉
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
