get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
If you’ve been a blog reader for a little while, you probably know that I offer mentor meetings, taught a photography class at a MOPS meeting and hosted a free photography shoot out this past spring. I quickly came to realize that I love teaching about photography and definitely want to continue to grow that part of my business as much as I can. So when I met Nicole of Emma Love Events this spring and she asked me to be part of a styled shoot, I was beyond excited. Finally, a styled shoot full of pretty, purposeful details with no time constraints and the complete freedom to photograph in whatever way I want! As Nicole and I continued to plan, I had the idea to share this styled shoot with others and turn into another teaching opportunity. So this styled shoot is also a “photography workshop”…and I’d love to see you there to help me photograph all the deliciously beautiful details that Nicole has cooked up!
Nicole is an event planner with a heart and soul for design and all things lovely. She hopes to seriously launch her event planning business in the Morgantown area and use inspiration from her great-grandmas and mint green kitchens. But for now, you can check out a little bit about her and the story behind her business on her blog. Nicole will be putting together a “Blush & Blueberry” set-up for the styled shoot…inspired by summer and the warm, colorful sunsets of West Virginia. Think pinks, blues, blueberries, soft ribbon, natural flowers and a tulle skirt used to inspire unique bridal looks. The plan is to have plenty of blueberries, a little bit of bubbly, a model to dress pretty, a few event styling tips and lots of photography instruction! Nicole and I will prepare everything and then you come and photograph it all! I’ll share how to shoot in bright sunlight, shoot details, suggest bridal poses…really, it’s whatever the styled shoot presents us with. It’s going to be a relaxing evening surrounded by pretty things and hopefully a warm and colorful West Virginia sunset. 🙂
Here’s a little taste of what Nicole has been dreaming up over the past couple of months…
The event is open to just 10 people, so if you’re interested, contact me now at jessica@jessicafikephotography.com. The exact location will be announced soon…either a blueberry farm or pink barn!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
