get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
When Kristin called me instead of emailing me first to chat about an engagement session, I immediately liked her. While I’m not a huge fan of talking on the phone, I do enjoy making personal connections with prospective clients through voice conversation when possible. It’s a great way to share personalities and get things done quickly! And Kristin and I did just that. We talked on the phone on a Thursday and met for the engagement session the following Tuesday. Talk about making things happen! I like it! 🙂
Another thing that I really liked about Kristin was that she didn’t think I was completely nuts when I mentioned doing their session in a library! I’ve wanted to do an engagement session in a library for the longest time and when Kristin said she and Mike liked to read and were self-proclaimed math nerds, I knew it would be very fitting! Kristin happily agreed!
Calculators, math books and WVU mathematics t-shirts in tow, Kristin and Mike met me on the downtown campus and fulfilled my photog fantasy of shooting in a library! Thanks a million you guys!
I just love all the lines and colors the library has to offer! And Kristin and Mike’s cute smiles…they’re pretty great, too. 😉
They brought their Harry Potter books along as props…
We had to be super quiet while taking pictures. This meant I had to turn off my focus beeping and I had to whisper!
Time to get out the math books and calculators!
Being cute in the library…I like it! 🙂
I put these mathematicians up to a challenge! Actually, it may have been Mike’s idea…and a great idea it was!
Graphing calculators are so cool. I remember thinking I was pretty hardcore in my high school trig class. Ha!
Kristin and Mike met in their Complex Variables class! Sounds complex. 😉
LOVE this ring shot!!!
Still being cute in the library. Thanks, you two! 🙂
After the library, we ventured out to some nearby campus buildings that caught Kristin’s eye…
CUTE!!! A session favorite for me!
Kristin, I love your eyes and smile in this one! So pretty!!!
Lovin’ the light and composition in this one…
Leaf-throwing…of course!
Thanks for a great session, Kristin and Mike! And thanks SO MUCH for toughing it out and playing along in the library. I really think that helped display who you guys are as a couple. ENJOY your pictures and hopefully we’ll get to work together again in the future! Happy math-teaching to ya! 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
