get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Lauren and John got married on one of the prettiest days of fall this year. The air was just a little cool, the sun was shining brightly and the day was filled with shades of orange and purple, and of course pumpkins. There weren’t too many fall-colored trees around, but there were plenty of ripe winery grapes! Their wedding was at Sunset Hills Vineyard in Purcellville, VA, which is part of one of the wine countries of the east coast. When I arrived at the winery, it was bustling with lots of guests. But within a couple of hours, the place became quiet as it transformed into Lauren and John’s wedding.
Being at Lauren and John’s wedding got me super excited for my upcoming wine weekend with my good friend Jaclyn! As long as Hurricane Sandy doesn’t prevent us from doing so, we’re heading to Charlottesville, VA on Friday to check out that “wine country”! It’ll be so nice to get away and have some girl time, especially with the crazy busy fall season JFP has had! I did learn a little about wine and wineries while at Lauren and John’s wedding and I’m excited to continue learning this weekend…and hopefully with other weddings in the future. Wineries and vineyards make such beautiful wedding venues…
Of course the girls enjoyed some wine while getting ready! Lauren actually used to work at a winery, so it was perfect!
Bridal shoes in a pretty chandelier!? Why not!?! 🙂
John even enjoyed some wine before pictures started…
Lauren’s dress was almost exactly like my dress! The lace, the color, the style…so similar! I thought it was verrryy pretty!!! 🙂
Time for a first look in the vineyards!
Love this shot of John admiring Lauren…
We got access to a secret barrel room for pictures…I was so excited! I’ve only ever been in one other barrel room, but knew it would make for some fabulous, one-of-a-kind pictures!
One of my favorites from the wedding day!
Because Lauren and John did a first look, we got all wedding party and family fun and formals done before the ceremony. They did have a sunset ceremony, so it was almost a must for their big day! We had so much time for so many wonderful pictures…and I was so grateful!
A new favorite wedding party shot for JFP!
I think I snapped this one by accident. 🙂
LOVE this bridal portrait of Lauren…
Time for the sunset ceremony! We had some gorgeous light!!
How cute are these napkins!?! If you’re looking for something unique to put on your custom napkins, definitely consider something like this!
John wiping a tear from Lauren’s face…so sweet!
More of the gorgeous light!!! Definitely a perk to having a sunset ceremony…
And just a few more pictures of the bride and groom at sunset…
LOVE this one! Such a great picture of Lauren…and such beautiful light!
Just a few hours before the wedding, this room was filled with lots of guests tasting wine and enjoying the beautiful fall day. It was hard for me to picture the wine-tasting room as a reception room, but it transformed wonderfully!
Lauren’s brother made custom cornhole boards for the newlyweds!
Lauren and John, thanks so much for inviting me to be a part of your beautiful fall wedding! You guys did so well during your engagement session this past spring and you did even better on the big day. Thanks a million for taking so much time to take so many wonderful pictures and for walking all over the winery to hit the perfect photo spots. ENJOY your pictures and maybe I’ll see you back at BC in the future. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

The pictures are breathtaking, Jessica! Excellent work!
Thank you, Cynthia!
[…] know Halloween was technically yesterday, but I had to share the wedding and two portrait sessions first to stay on my editing track. Trick or treating was also postponed […]
