Deep Creek Proposal: Courtney & Brian at Tolliver Falls Waterfall at Swallow Falls State Park

Brian and I chose the time and location. I got there ahead of time, practiced my ninja photography skills in the landscape and hoped Courtney wouldn’t suspect me as I pretended to be an innocent photographer just taking photos of the waterfall…

And their dog waited patiently as the moment happened. (You can see her head peeking out in the photo above.)

After I revealed myself, we made time for photos. First, the three of them in front of Tolliver Falls and eventually, sitting on a fallen tree off the trail…

And it’s always hard to resist a shot like this! In the trail, super tall trees, surrounded by the forest lines!

Brian knew Courtney wouldn’t want to be in her leisurewear for all their photo time, so he had a change of clothes ready. (If you’re looking to propose and you wonder how in the world you’re going to get your partner out of their sweatpants and hoodie, sneaking a nice outfit of theirs solves that problem!)

They wanted to visit Muddy Creek Falls too…

And now for a couple of film shots. The black and white one that so highlights the dog so well is of course a favorite. 🙂

This proposal took place in late April, so very soft greens were present. It was also a weekday, so very few people were present. When proposing in a popular place like this, I suggest timing it right so we get as much privacy as possible…and so I don’t have to direct traffic while also trying to capture the moment, ha!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
