Weather, events, things to do, insider tips and info for July 18th-July 24th
THE WEATHER
We finally got some rain! Talk of the town has been a lowering water level of the lake and drought conditions. But two bouts of rainfall over the past few days hopefully helped with that.
Weekend outlook – 70s on Saturday with some rain possible, 80 and sunshine on Sunday. 70s return next week, but lows only in the 60s, not the 50s. You still might need to bring a hoodie though.
THIS JUST IN
Reminder! Firewater Kitchen & Bar is hosting Tiki Nights every Thursday through August 29th from 6 to 9pm. I hear the steel drum band is especially amazing! Also, Firewater has a new dock for dining.
Stage Wisp happens every Wednesday at Wisp Resort from 6:30 to 9pm…and sometimes it’s inside, like last night, when we were getting some much needed rain. We went last night and were still able to hang outside for a bit. But the wind and rain eventually rolled in and we were all forced inside (except our boys who continued to play football despite the rain). We all still had drinks, visited with friends and enjoyed good music.
THINGS TO DO
DEFINITELY hit the farmers markets! Deep Creek Farmers Market happens every Friday at Garrett College from 3 to 6pm. I highly recommend a pork burger from Wildom Farm, gelato from Go Go Gelato, and some upcycled clothes from Dani Starre.
The Mountain Fresh Farmers Market happens every Wednesday + Saturday in downtown Oakland from 10am to 1pm. We got peaches, plums, apples, nectarines, cucumbers, blueberries, and lettuce the last time we were there.
Will you be here on Wednesday? Ace’s Run has Pasta Nights every Wednesday at 4pm! Kids pay their age.

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
