THE WEATHER
We’ve had some warmth and sunshine! Rain moves in today and it’ll drop into the 50s for the weekend. BUT we’ve got a stretch of dry days coming up! No rain, no snow! And yes, I need to specify “no snow” because it’s the #tundraofmaryland.
And I must emphasize…if you’re coming into town, make sure you have long sleeves and pants, and a jacket too! Even though we’re seeing warm, spring-like temperatures, it’s still getting cold at night. Through Tuesday, it’s going to drop into the 30s. So in summer I say “even though it’s summer, bring a hoodie. ” In spring I say “bring a hoodie…and pants and a jacket.”

I did not mention this in my live on Instagram, but Lakeside Creamery opens for the season today! Absolutely one of the most exciting Deep Creek days of the year!
THINGS TO DO
How about a day in downtown Oakland? You can hit up the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market in their pavilion (10am to 1pm on Saturday) and then walk across the train tracks to historic Alder and 2nd Streets. Englanders Antiques-Grill and Soda Fountain, Vagabond Taproom, Shoofly Java, Stephanie’s Sweet Shop, 206 Alder Street Bistro & Bar, The Painted Cupboard, Bougie Bottoms Boutique, The Gallery Shop, The Book Mark’et…all within a couple of blocks of each other!
On Sundays in the off-season, Dutch’s at Silver Tree has $7 apps and their outdoor deck is now open for dining! 50 and some sun on Sunday…just take your hoodie and jacket.

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
