get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Shooting seniors is way different than couples and families. Seniors are just one person, so it’s a full session with just one subject. You can’t ask them to hold hands with their partner, you can’t ask them to give their baby a piggy back ride and you certainly can’t ask them to smooch anyone! You’re completely reliant on their own personality and their own body language, so it can be a little challenging, especially if you’re used to photographing more than one person at a time.
My mom was taking pictures for my godmother’s daughter Paige last week and since she wanted a different backdrop for the pictures, they decided to come to Morgantown. So while this wasn’t one of my jobs, I still tagged along and took it as an opportunity to practice and to add something fresh to the portfolio! I didn’t use my cameras, just my mom’s camera and my 70-200 2.8L lens. It was not only good practice, but also an opportunity to practice shooting with my zoom lens since I don’t use it as much as I should, or would like. I’d love to add more seniors to my portfolio, so hopefully this will be the beginning of many more to come in the near future. 😉
The weather was absolutely perfect! It wasn’t hot, there was a little breeze and the sunlight was yummy!
Who knew Paige had a model face!?! 😉
One of my personal favorites…
So while I was taking this picture of Paige on the bridge…
…my mom was taking the one of me on the bottom left. She enjoyed catching me in action, but I’m not sure I enjoy the angle because it makes my butt look way bigger than it is…ha! Thought I’d share for fun. 🙂
Paige made this wall look good!
My mom was snapping away during this segment and I grabbed this one. Such gorgeous light!
Thanks for letting me tag along, too, Paige! Hopefully my mom and I weren’t too overwhelming together, but what other senior girl gets TWO photographers during their shoot!?! 😉
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

The pictures are awsome. Paige is all grown up. She should be proud of the results.
