get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Kaylin and Dean were married on one of the last days of summer at her parents’ house. It was a “backyard wedding”, and while that may seem scary to some, Kaylin, Dean and the Byers family tackled it well.
They set up a beautiful ceremony spot in the front yard, accommodated hundreds of guests in a large white tent in the side yard, and even provided “fancy” port-o-potties and a running outdoor sink. They put together a homemade bar, used canoes as drink coolers, and surprised everyone with fireworks and sky lanterns at the end of the night. Oh, and there were Georgetown Cupcakes! 🙂
But maybe the best part of this backyard wedding was Kaylin and Dean’s relationship. I first encountered their relationship together during their engagement session in July and goodness, they are such an easy-going couple! They make each other laugh, they’re quick to brush off any negativity and they just like to have fun. All things that make my job easy and enjoyable.
So thank you, Kaylin and Dean, for putting together a beautiful wedding and for just being your easy-going, fun selves. It was a pleasure working with you and capturing all your hard work!
Kaylin sent me a picture of her dress after she bought it and I loved it immediately! I couldn’t wait to see it in person, and when I finally did, I declared it one of the prettiest wedding dresses I’ve ever seen!
Converse shoes for the little guys…
And flower crowns for the little girls…
Kaylin’s flowers were impressive! I’ve never seen such a unique collection of flowers!
Such sweet flower girl moments. 🙂
Kaylin, you looked STUNNING! Wait until you see the bridal portraits. 🙂
One of my favorite bridal portraits ever!!!
Kaylin got ready inside her parents’ house while Dean got ready in a very nice camper out back…
The first look!
A favorite for me. 🙂
Not exactly sure what Kaylin is doing, but she made Dean laugh. 🙂
Such a beautiful outdoor ceremony set-up…
And how gorgeous is this pergola!?!
Another favorite. 🙂 Told ya they were fun!
Kaylin with her nieces and nephews. 🙂
The beautiful flowers! So many awesome colors…such a pretty variety!
So glad we spotted this sunlight and that field!! 🙂
Some different kind of portraits JFP…
I love these bridal portraits of Kaylin. Her hair, the flowers and again, that dress!
Kaylin and Dean’s reception details were very personal, with lots of handmade wooden pieces by Dean…
Dean gave Kaylin the spoon figure when he proposed. They have a thing for spoons. 🙂
The homemade bar!
Georgetown Cupcakes! If you know me well, you know that I ALWAYS enjoy some sweets at the end of the wedding. The chocolate-peanut butter was my choice and it was DELICIOUS! Thanks for treat, Kaylin and Dean. 🙂
I love this first dance moment. 🙂
Canoes as drink coolers!
Kaylin came running through the yard in her bare feet (she didn’t wear shoes all day…she’s so cool! 🙂 ) to find me when she saw this sunset! I love when a bride is that excited to get MORE portraits!
Sparklers, sky lanterns and fireworks…
The fireworks were few and they were high, so it wasn’t easy to snag a picture of them. But I’m glad I got something, and I like the “sparkle” effect the fireworks made in the sky just above Kaylin and Dean.
Kaylin requested a picture with me before I left…what a sweet gal. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
