get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Jessica and I first met this past winter. She graciously offered to meet me in my home office to discuss she and Ken’s wedding photography options…and we hit it off immediately! I remember Jessica being so easy to talk to and just so excited about her wedding plans. A meeting like that always ends well…and it always turns into great teamwork when making pretty pictures. ๐ย
Fast forward seven months and we were reunited for their engagement session! Jessica and Ken are “outdoor people” and they wanted their pictures done in the fall and in Garrett County. Of course, Swallow Falls State Park came to mind and they agreed! We met during the last weekend in September when the fall colors had just started to change…and as Jessica and Ken closed in on their final wedding day preparations. Now, their big day is TOMORROW and I’m excited to work with them once again!
Fun fact: Ken is a Ravens fan and I’m a Steelers fan…and if you know anything about sports, you know the Ravens and Steelers are huge rivals. At the end of the session, Ken told me I was his favorite Steeler fan and my day was made! It’s always a plus when I win the guy over! ๐
One of my first captures of the session and I love it. Such a sweet, candid “in-between” moment. ๐
Swallow Falls State Park…you’re beautiful!ย
Rain was in the forecast, but Jessica and Ken were willing to make things happen no matter what! They picked up these fun umbrellas at the Dollar Store before the session….and we thankfully didn’t experience any rain! ๐
Fun Fact #2: Brian proposed to me behind where Jessica and Ken are sitting! This spot is at the very top of Muddy Creek Falls, the “big falls” at the state park. I always photograph my clients here when visiting, and I always tell them my story. ๐
Jessica was smiling and laughing and just genuinely having a good time, the whole time! And Ken was such a great compliment to that. Pretty sure I could hang out with these two on the regular. ๐
Because the water was low, we were able to get “up close and personal” with Muddy Creek Falls…
A session favorite for me! ๐
I love that Jessica chose a pop of red!
She also chose to add a stylish and moody accessory…
Not just any gal could pull off that hat! But Jessica totally does! ๐
Some final portraits in front of the yellow fall colors at the park…
Thanks for a great session, Jessica and Ken! And really, just an all around good time. I really enjoyed hanging out with you two and getting to know you during your session. Tomorrow is going to be awesome!! ๐
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iโm not sure Iโm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
