It’s time for another installment of my Pinterest finds! I’m on Pinterest almost every day and made the decision to actually DO some of the stuff that I pin. Whether it be to buy a certain product, make a fun craft or try a new recipe, I figured I should actually put Pinterest to use instead of letting the wonderful ideas and inspiration sit idle.

Earlier this spring, I helped out with my friend Kelly’s bridal shower. It was tea party themed, so of course I used Pinterest for inspiration. And that’s when I found this tea wreath! I was in charge of prizes and I thought this would make a great prize because it fit the theme and could be a useful decor tool in someone’s home. Here’s how my wreath turned out:

Not too shabby, eh?? Looks very much like the example, which I was excited about! It’s also super colorful. 🙂 I got all my tea bags at the local TJ Maxx store after finding out from a friend that they have great tea at a great price.

PINTEREST FIND: Tea Wreath

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
-Two pieces of about 12×12 cardboard (I used a shipping box I received in the mail; because it was thick, I cut each circle individually instead of gluing and then cutting)
-Patterned paper or fabric cut into strips (I used fabric crafts I had leftover from Ally’s pennant banner)
-Clothes pins (up to 24-ish)
-Hot glue
-Ribbon or heavy-duty string for hanging

INSTRUCTIONS: Using something to either trace or make a near-perfect circle, cut the cardboard into two circle pieces (I used a large mixing bowl and just traced the circumference). Also cut a small inner hole in each piece, but make sure the wreath girth is about as thick as a clothespin. Glue both pieces together and let cool. Cover your wreath with the paper or fabric. Strips of fabric worked ok for me, but the tutorial suggests single sheets of paper. Glue the clothespins facing outward on the wreath about an inch or so apart from each other. To add extra color and pattern, you could also cover the clothespins in the paper or fabric (I opted not to do this). Tack some ribbon for hanging on the back and insert your tea bags! DONE!

FINAL REVIEW: I thought it was going to be more of a challenge than it was, but this wreath was fairly easy to make and took me less than an hour to make! I’m not a tea person so this “tea wreath” wouldn’t really be useful for me, but I thought it could come in handy for other things. It can hold receipts, grocery lists, pictures…whatever you have lying around the kitchen! If you’re not into tea, consider it a “hang-all decoration” for your home. 🙂
