get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
On May 12th, I’ll be working my first double duty wedding. My friends Kelly and Chris asked me to be both a bridesmaid and the photographer at their wedding and I’m honored and excited! Most people make a crazy face or ask “How in the world are you going to do that!?” when I mention it, but I’m not worried. I’m obviously very experienced when it comes to the wedding photographer part of my double duty, so no worries there. I’m not, however, nearly as experienced in the bridesmaid department (only did it once, 9 years ago!). I love weddings, helping/being with good friends and photogging, so all in all, I’m pretty pumped about this opportunity, and like I said before, not worried! I will have my new friend Jamie along as a second shooter, so she’ll have me covered when I actually need to be in the pictures. And that’s going to be weird…me actually being in a majority of the pictures on a wedding day? Weird. But definitely fun to change things up a bit!
Anyways…the real reason for this post…
Kelly’s bridal shower was this past weekend so my bridesmaid duties were in full swing. I was in charge of games and prizes and helped set things up for the main event. I knew I’d be pulling a similar double duty at this shower because of the details and my need to take pictures! Tea party theme = hats, tea cups, pretty little sandwiches and spring flowers. And we had all that! Kelly’s mom bought 40 sets of tea cups and saucers at local thrift stores and filled the room with color and pretty-ness with various table covers, lace overlays and flowers. Details are some of my favorite things to shoot and I had plenty of camera eye-candy at the shower. Oh, and the hats! Just about every lady came in a tea party hat! So fun!
My wonderful friend Bekah was in charge of some of the food. She made this rainbow arrangement of fruit…Pinterest inspiration!
What’s a colorful bridal shower without a big bowl of colorful M&M’s!?!
Bekah and Becky, AWESOME job with the food!
I don’t know what it was about these little roll-ups, but they were delicious! Becky, what did you use!?!
Every guest had their own tea cup from which to drink (do you like my proper grammar skills there??) and Kelly’s mom even made little “drink me” tags for each one!
The lace overlays and colorful table covers were the perfect combination…
Kelly’s niece ready for the tea party!
My prizes! Notice the Krumpe’s Donuts (a Hagerstown, MD fave!) and tea wreath. Another post on the tea wreath later…(Pinterest find!)
Guests arriving in their hats! This is a particular fave…the famous and so lovable Bobbi Ann and Jess!
Everyone in hats!
Kelly’s mom…so cute!
Sorry if you hate your face in this one, Kelly, but I just had to share. 🙂
Can’t you just tell that Kelly is going to be a beautiful bride!?! YEP!!
And lastly, the bride and bridesmaids! We’re all wearing a different color for the wedding! Yellow, blue, purple, green, pink, and orange…all bright colors! Can’t wait for the explosion of color at the wedding! I LOVE COLOR!!
More from Kelly and Chris in May after their BIG DAY!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

I love love love looooove the pictures! It was so nice to actually SEE some of the things from my shower. The day flew by so quickly I felt like I didn’t actually get to look at anything. Thank you so much for everything you did that weekend and for taking the pictures! I actually got really teary eyed when I saw the last one of all of the girls together. 🙂 Thanks again, LOVE you!!
