get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Stephanie and I go way back. Probably about ten years ago, I worked at a local country club for a summer. I was one of the “cabana girls” that served food, drinks and snacks to the pool guests and Stephanie was one of the lifeguards! We spent many summer afternoons tending to guests, prepping and cleaning the pool area, and being bored on a rainy, cloudy days. She was from a town about 15 minutes from where I grew up, so we only knew each other from work. After that summer, we didn’t see each other…until last month! Stephanie contacted me earlier this year when she was planning her wedding and after thorough emails (Stephanie is a good planner), she decided to book me for her photography! I love that my job reunites me with people from my past. Such a neat circle of events! We met for she and Tucker’s engagement session in downtown Pittsburgh on a Saturday evening…after I got stuck in traffic and after I got lost (UGH!). But with their patience, understanding and ease in front of the camera, we walked away from a successful session! These two are getting married TOMORROW and I’m excited for their Pittsburgh Opera House affair! It’ll be a new venue for me and I’ll get the chance to work with this sweet couple once again. 🙂
Stephanie and Tucker picked the river walk downtown for their session. It provides beautiful views of the city and it’s a place they often visit.
Â
Two favorites for me! I especially love Stephanie’s hair in the picture on the right. Doesn’t it look fab??
I encourage snuggling in front of the camera. 🙂
TOMORROW!!!
Love this little nook we found along the river! Willow trees in the middle of a city!?! I was pleasantly surprised!
Then we hiked up to one of the “yellow bridges” which is a must when taking pictures in downtown Pittsburgh…
The setting sun was giving everything a very lovely glow!
Ah the beautiful, warm light!
Love the colors!
Two great smiles. 🙂
So glad I jumped up on the bridge wall for this angle!
A few more portraits on this beautiful tree- and lamp post-lined cobble stone road…
Â
And one last shot with the bridge!
Â
Stephanie and Tucker, I know I’ve said it a bunch of times already but THANK YOU for helping me navigate the city and for understanding my unexpected tardiness for the session! We were still able to make things happen and I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter, more patient couple to work with in that crazy situation. SEE YOU TOMORROW!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
