get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Kaylin and Dean’s engagement session in my backyard was such a favorite for the summer. The weather was great, especially the glowing sun, and I just loved working with them! And Kaylin’s dresses!?! Awesome! Even my little girl Ally admired them. 🙂 I was so grateful that Kaylin and Dean were willing to come from Hagerstown, MD for their session. They just got engaged earlier this summer and quickly started planning their September wedding. Yes! September of this year! They had less than four months to plan so they originally didn’t think they’d have time for an engagement session. But Kaylin knew she really wanted one and I knew I wanted to get some practice with them. When I told Kaylin I wouldn’t be able to come to Hagerstown, she mentioned coming to Garrett County…and I was so thankful, and excited! I love bringing people to our backyard and I love showing them around the lake area. I got to do both with Kaylin and Dean…
We were able to get some pictures during the tall grass’s final days in our yard, which is a special treat in my book. We have six acres, with five of the acres being grass. Brian mows about two acres and the farmers behind us take our un-cut three acres twice a year and use it for hay. It’s a win-win for everyone! The farmers get hay for free, Brian doesn’t have to mow as much and I get a pretty backdrop for pictures! The grass is gone now (until fall), but it was beautiful when we had it just a few weeks ago! I think it looks especially lovely in the warm sunshine…
And Kaylin’s blonde hair looked awesome with the tall grass and sunshine, too!

All my clients get a little closer with nature when they come to the backyard. 🙂
Since the light was SO GOOD that evening, I knew the top of Wisp Mountain would be especially lovely!
Â
I love this spot that we found along the road! The light was coming in at the perfect angle, there was plenty of greenery and the wild flowers added an extra special touch!
Â
There’s so much I love about this next series. The warm sunshine, the wildflowers, Kaylin’s blonde hair, their black-green outfit combo…
Snuggle pictures in the warmth are such a fave!
Kaylin flashing some model eyes! 🙂
A definite favorite for me!!
I wish I could have light like this at every session!
Outfit change! Blue and orange are complimentary colors. 🙂 And Kaylin put on another awesome dress!
Some funny faces were appropriate for these two. 🙂
Then I found this location! ASCI, Adventure Sports Center International, sits on top of Wisp Mountain and is the world’s only mountaintop whitewater course. It’s a local attraction in Garrett County that provides guided rafting tours and other adventure sport activities, and I never thought to use it for pictures. Thankfully it was closed and quiet when we arrived…
Â
So many things to love about this series, too! I think I mostly enjoy the colors!
The next two are favorites for me. 🙂
AH! THIS LIGHT!!! So glad we stumbled upon it!!!
Favorite! Such perfect backlighting for a GLOW!!!
Another favorite. 🙂 They have fun together!
And as we were walking back to the car, I spotted this light…

Â
So much glowy goodness, right!?! And how about Kaylin and Dean!?! They’re cute. 🙂 THANKS A MILLION for coming out to GC, you two! I’m super pumped to see you again at your wedding NEXT MONTH!!!
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
