get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
As I was waiting on Alyssa and Josh to arrive in downtown Washington, PA, I got nervous. The sun had gone away, dark clouds were moving in and the winds had picked up. There was a storm coming, but the hourly forecast predicted it would come AFTER our session. Well the hourly forecast was WRONG! The rain came, the winds blew and it got dark. BUT thankfully it only lasted a short while! Whew! Mother Nature was looking out for us that day! ๐ While it did remain a little on the darker side with some sprinkles here and there, we were still able to complete a successful engagement session. Thankfully Alyssa and Josh were TROOPERS and the George Washington Hotel had some nice indoor options for us. It’s actually the venue where they’ll be wed next year, so it was nice to explore before the actual wedding day. I started off nervous for this engagement session (because of the rain!), but ended feeling excited about working with these two…or three. ๐
Since it was raining when we started, we explored the inside of the George Washington Hotel and took some indoor portraits. This is the room where Alyssa and Josh will say “I do” next September. Isn’t it beautiful!?! Oh the ceremony pictures we’re going to get here!!!
And this little guy is their son, Asher. He joined us here and there throughout the session. ๐
I think this needs reposed when they’re in their wedding attire!
A session favorite for me!
LOVE the unique colors and light in this one!
We ventured outside and used any covered space we could find. I was itching for some outdoor light!
Very moody! ๐ And how about Alyssa’s hair here?? It’s so eye-catching and sort of Marilyn Monroe-ish!
So romantic. ๐
ย
Alyssa was a big fan of using the beautiful courthouse across the street and because it provided some covered outdoor space and some awesome architecture, I was happy to fulfill Alyssa’s wishes!
See the rain?? It wasn’t coming down as hard as it looks!
But I was standing in the middle of the street with oncoming traffic in the distance to get these shots. ๐
We moved back inside the hotel since the rain wouldn’t let up. Alyssa and Josh showed me the reception ballroom and boy is it unique! The hotel was built in the early 20th century and the original details still linger…
ย
And back outside! Time for a couple more pictures with Asher. ๐

Good thing they were okay with standing in the rain…with an umbrella, of course! ๐
More moody and romantic portraits…
Another favorite for me!
These next few are BIG TIME favorites! The architecture of the courthouse, the city street, the umbrella and Alyssa and Josh’s ability to make the rainy scene look GOOD! ๐
One more city landscape to close out the session…and to make sure I really gave Alyssa the “city feel” she desired in her pictures…

I’m excited to get back to the George Washington Hotel and downtown Washington and photograph these two again! They’re going for a Great Gatsby theme for their wedding and I think it’s going to pair so nicely with the feel of their venue and the surrounding area. I’m so glad we got to get a taste for their wedding day during their engagement session…and I’m so glad we didn’t let the rain ruin our time together! Thanks for a great session, Alyssa and Josh! ๐
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it moreโฆand plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
Iโm not sure Iโm starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesdayโฆ

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
