get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Oh May. You’ve been pretty lovely so far. Warm weather, not too much rain and plenty of time spent outside! And we still have another month of spring before summer hits! Here’s to hoping this warm-weather season doesn’t go by too quickly! This time last year, I had three weddings under my belt for 2014 and was bracing for the busiest of the busy season. That busy season started with four beautiful spring weddings that I was thankful to be a part of. At each wedding, I was blessed with friendly couples and wonderful weather…and it all happened in the matter of two weeks! Talk about being a lucky photographer! 🙂
Rachel and Shawn were married at the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, VA. I enjoyed this venue not only for all its outdoor elements, but also its octagonal barn! I’ve been to many weddings in barns, but never to one shaped like an octagon! And of course, Rachel and Shawn were super to work with. 🙂 Happy First Anniversary, you guys!
Oh, and fun fact: Rachel is the artist behind the JFP branding you see today! 🙂 Woo hooo!!!

Sara and Josh were married at the popular West Overton Barn in Scottdale, PA. They were married outside in front of a beautiful historical home and the reception took place in the beautifully-decorated barn. AND Sara and Josh’s wedding was just recently featured on TheKnot.com! They were awesome and their wedding was awesome. 🙂 Happy First Anniversary, you two!

Jenna and Glenn were married at the grand Cathedral in Greensburg, PA and had their reception at the Summit Inn in Farmington, PA. Their day included a firetruck and a treehouse! Again, a beautiful wedding with beautiful weather! Happy First Anniversary, Jenna and Glenn!

Kellyn and Matt were married on the very last day of May at The Purple Iris in Martinsburg, WV. One of the neat things about this place was that it was in the middle of town, but you’d never know it! The mansion is surrounded by trees and grass and woods, making it a very private venue. Both ceremony and reception were held outside and it was a beautiful day. Kellyn and Matt felt more like friends on their wedding day because of the awesome time we had at their engagement session the year before. And now these two are having a baby this September! CONGRATS, Kellyn and Matt, and Happy First Anniversary!

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
