get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
My first “session at the lake” was in 2013. I met up with a family who was vacationing together at Deep Creek Lake and took some family pictures for them. It was the perfect opportunity for pictures because everyone was together. Everyone who is normally miles and states apart. It’s really a neat concept! You’re staying at a beautiful vacation home at the lake with your immediate family. Grandparents, siblings, married couples and grandkids are all included, and it’s just one big vacation of family and fun! What better way to make memories and capture your time together than with pictures at the lake at your beautiful vacation home!?! My sessions at the lake continued last summer and it was then that I realized…THIS IS AWESOME! I’m no more than 20 minutes from home, I’m photographing in a beautiful area at a beautiful home, and I’m hanging out with people who are happy to be on vacation! It’s fun to hear their stories, find out where they’re from and see their family dynamics unfold. I’m also playing a little bit of “tour guide” and giving them the ins and outs of Deep Creek, including my favorite places to go. I’m in my element when I’m with these families and I cannot wait to do more! Most of Alicia’s family came from the Pittsburgh area to Deep Creek last summer. Their group included grandparents, siblings and their spouses and kids. We had quite the age range to work with and a few individual families, but we had fun, and I’m happy I was able to capture such memories for them. 🙂
First we started with the WHOLE big group!
Â
Their vacation home was lakefront with a huge backyard, so that’s where we took almost all of their pictures!
Then I asked the kids to be kids. 🙂
Grandparents and their grandkids!
Just the grandkids. 🙂
Â
Then it was time to break them down into individual families…
And the kiddos again! This time, we REALLY took advantage of their lakefront!
A few pictures on the boat…appropriate, right!? 🙂
And one final family portrait at the house!
Â
I still have summer openings for sessions at the lake, so if you’re interested in one, let me know ASAP! Thanks so much for having me, Alicia and family. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
