Today is the BIRTHDAY TRIFECTA! Us Fikes celebrate not one, not two, but THREE birthdays on December 11th! Brian, Ally and myself were all born today. Yep, you read that right! We’re a crazy, unique, 1 in 133,000 kind of family. 🙂

When I found out Brian and I had the same birthday, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Maybe it was because I thought he was cute and really wanted to get to know him more. ‘) Or maybe it’s because I knew it would be something we could celebrate together…for a long time!

And now we share our celebration with our little girl Ally! She was actually due on December 17th and I was convinced she’d be a Christmas baby. Your first always comes late, right? Ha! My water broke on the night of the 10th and she popped out the next day. The doctors and nurses all sang us happy birthday and we shared some cake in the hospital. After that, we were on the news and in newspapers! We were sort of like celebrities that year. 🙂

So here we are…another year of the Birthday Trifecta…and Ally is FOUR. HOW AND WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN!?!? We all know that time flies, but when you have kids, IT REALLY FLIES! Ally is definitely not a baby or toddler anymore…talking all the time and using bigger words. She dresses herself, brushes her own teeth and is a big help around the house, especially with Jack. She loves going to school and playing with her friends…and anyone that will entertain her in her room! She really enjoys “sparklies”, especially when they come on boots, and she’s usually wearing a couple different outfits a day, including her princess dress-up dresses. She’s definitely keeping us on our toes with her lively and spit-fire personality, and it’s exciting to see her grow. And boy, has she grown over the past four years. Enjoy this little mix of memories of us and our Ally girl. 🙂

And Happy Birthday to this guy! Without him, we wouldn’t be the Fikes. Without him, Ally wouldn’t be here. And without him, we wouldn’t be a trifecta. Thanks for many birthdays together, honey! Here’s to many more!
