get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Well I’m doing something I try not to do. I’m working on a weekday evening. If you’ve been following the blog or the JFP Facebook page, you might know that I’m a bit behind in work. Between the move to our new house and the computer/internet problems and challenges, my fall turnaround time isn’t as quick as I’d prefer. But, nonetheless, I’m getting it all done and making some sacrifices to make sure my clients aren’t waiting too incredibly long (thank you all so much for being patient and understanding!). So I’m blogging at 8:30 on a Tuesday night. 🙂
Danaile (or “DeeDee” or “Dee”) and Ryan were married on a cold, rainy October afternoon. The beautiful fall colors were still around in Garrett County, MD and the pumpkins were abundant…it was a beautiful event despite the weather! I was excited to finally shoot at the Chanteclaire Farm venue and was very happy to be part of DeeDee and Ryan’s big day. We met very late in the game, about a month before their wedding date. They were super friendly from the very beginning and we got along so easily…I knew we’d make a great team and I knew I’d enjoy shooting their wedding…
So after some wet hair, lots of umbrellas and a tumble or two (I tripped over a big rock that day!), we walked away with some beautiful pictures!
No fancy bridal shoes needed for this gal! All the girls wore boots!
Boots for the groom, too! Motorcycle riding boots to be exact…
Love this black and white moment of DeeDee becoming a bride…
STUNNING bridal portraits!!
It was sunny with no rain during the final hour before the ceremony…
My mom and I took way too many pictures of this little guy! How could we resist his willingness to CHEESE!?! 🙂
The girls rode to the ceremony in this old truck…so cute!!!
I think I might blow this one up and hang it in the house somewhere…
And as the ceremony got started, the rain started…and the umbrellas came out. There’s my mom waiting for the recessional on the right. 🙂
Tree-planting ceremony and rain drops!
Time for portraits…in the rain! We stayed under cover or as long as we could. We even ran back and forth in between different pictures to make a game plan and stay as dry as possible. We probably looked a little silly running back and forth, but I was just thankful for a wedding party willing to brave the rain and cold!
A special thanks to the wedding party for standing in the rain for these!
Now for all the beautiful reception details!
Good capture from my mom!
Pretty great wedding, right?? A couple that wanted to have fun, didn’t mind the rain and put together some awesome details…A+ in my book! Thanks DeeDee and Ryan! I’m so glad you guys found me, even if it was super close to your wedding date. I had a great time working with you and I hope you enjoy your pictures! Happy married life to ya! Thanks for being sweet. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!
