get to know ME more!
Hi Thank you so much for visiting the blog! Whether you're looking for more pretty pictures, inspiration for your wedding day, or some useful Deep Creek info, I hope you'll find a comfy seat, maybe a cup of coffee, and read on!
Liz and Erik’s wedding day was beautiful. Fall had just arrived, so the leaves were changing and color surrounded. There was a cool, crisp feel in the air, but the sun was out and brought a little warmth. The reception details were impeccable and spoke so well to who Liz and Erik are as a couple. And Liz and Erik were just incredible to work with. So warm and friendly, and willing to take as many pictures as I asked!
This was my second wedding at the Penn Scenic venue in the mountains of southwestern PA. Liz and Erik transformed the space into such a welcoming and fun environment for their guests…I was jealous I wasn’t a guest! But it was all such a joy to photograph and it’s safe to say that their wedding day will always be a huge favorite! Enjoy all the orange and blue goodness of this beautiful affair!
I asked Liz to finish getting ready outside on the porch where there was a hint of fall in the background and much better light…and she was totally fine with that!
Liz had a first look with she and Erik’s dog! It was so cute, and a little emotional…
LOVE these next two bridal portraits of Liz! You looked beautiful, Mrs. Mangan!
Erik proposed using this Harry Potter book and “The Unbreakable Vow” chapter. So it was used as the ring bearer’s accessory. So neat!
Cheez-Its appear later, too. 🙂
This was the wedding party’s idea…and Liz and Erik went along with it. 🙂
Liz and Erik gave me more than enough time for bride-groom portraits, and I was so thankful! The Penn Scenic grounds are beautiful and the light was amazing…
I had way too much fun playing around with the sun…such great back light!
Favorite bride-groom portrait!
September 28th and fall had arrived in the mountains!
Now for the awesome reception details! Liz and Erik really enjoy board games, like Scrabble…
So each table centerpiece included a board game for guests to enjoy!
Below the reception room, Liz and Erik decorated the outdoor patio area for a casual cocktail hour. Who doesn’t want to enjoy snacks and games on a beautiful fall day!?
Love the bokeh my second shooter Callie captured on the right. 🙂
Liz and Erik, what a beautiful wedding! From the weather, to the details, to your friendliness…it was all so awesome! Thanks so much for inviting me to capture your big day and I wish you all the best in Philadelphia! Hopefully you’ll come back this way for more pictures in the future. 🙂
Scenes and thoughts from deep creek
Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.
I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

Wow! Great photos! Love the orange and all the details. And that backlight is absolutely dreamy. <3
