This was my second time photographing a family vacationing at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. I never really knew this, but the lake area in Garrett County is quite the attraction for out-of-state tourists. Yep, people come from miles and miles to visit this place! And really, I can’t blame them. It’s quite beautiful…and relaxing, with lots to do, especially in the summer months. If you’re looking for a place to escape with your family and you’re not wanting to go to the beach, consider Deep Creek! 🙂
Cynthia, the lady in blue, has a large family…half coming from New Jersey and half coming from Indiana. So they chose a spot in the middle for their summer family vacation…and it just so happened to be Deep Creek Lake! It was their first time at the lake, so I was eager to give them some ideas on where to go and what to do. But with so many young kiddos, they were planning to stay at the vacation house for the majority of their visit. The vacation house was BEAUTIFUL with an even prettier backyard and view of the lake…and that’s exactly where we met to take pictures.
We captured large group photos, individual family photos, cousins photos, daddy and kiddo photos, sisters photos…all kinds of combinations! It was an hour full of lots of pictures and lots of chasing after the youngsters. But hopefully this family agrees it was all worth it. We definitely got some frame-worthy captures!

After we hung out in the beautiful backyard, we headed to the lake…just a couple hundred feet away! The kids played in the sand and we explored the dock area a bit…

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!
We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos.
