Twin Tails Event Farm Wedding: Megan & Phil

Megan and Phil’s big day at Twin Tails Event Farm was my first wedding experience at this new venue in Garrett County. I had visited last fall for a personal tour and was blown away by all the beautiful details. The custom iron work, the farm- and country-inspired decor, the charming dinner tables and chairs, and the variety of spaces for the couple and their guests to enjoy…it really is a gem of a place and we’re lucky to have it here in our corner of Maryland…

Phil’s family is originally from Western Maryland, which is what landed he and Megan in Garrett County for their wedding. Even though they married last year during a ceremony at the courthouse, they took full advantage of celebrating their marriage. With close to 150 guests, a wedding party of 25 and beautiful weather, it was certainly a day to remember!

Megan and Phil, thanks a million for inviting me to capture your day! What a big and beautiful celebration you had! Thanks for all the smiles and all the pictures. 🙂

Megan used faux flowers to create bouquets for she, their daughter and the bridesmaids…

Mama and daughter dresses. 🙂

Megan’s step mom was a sewing master the day of the wedding! She helped tie up a few loose ends for the littles…

The Antique Bungalow is one of the prettiest getting ready spots I’ve ever seen! Hints of soft pink, sparkly details and plenty of vanity spaces for the gals to do their hair and makeup. I knew this would make for some good pictures!

Megan’s smile was big and bright all day long! She was so happy!

A long veil ALWAYS makes for some pretty pictures. 🙂

Definitely a favorite!

Favorite bridal portrait from the day, for sure!

Now it’s time for the guys. Phil had gifts for each of his groomsmen…

I just loved the black and white moments this window was making…

Time for the first look!

Check out Phil being so impressed with the details in Megan’s look…

I’m not sure what they were shaking hands about, but what a cute moment!

Again with that veil… 🙂

So many guys! Had to do the Flying V!

And a group hug. 🙂

Just a little nod to the bachelor party fun that was had. 🙂 Also, side note, does anyone else think the guy on the left looks like Little Finger from Game of Thrones? I do!

One of my biggest wedding parties ever! I lined them up and remembered all their names. 🙂

Megan and Phil’s wedding was the first one held in the new woodland ceremony spot at Twin Tails. Look how beautiful and picturesque!

Check out this next little series… 🙂

Just lookin’ cool on the way to their reception…

Signage at Twin Tails by my creative aide Hannah and her Dainty Daisy Designs skills!

Salads in a jar…how cute!?!

The dinner set-up was absolutely stunning!

Some twirling on the pond before the party started…

Now it’s time for the impressive Celebration Pavilion! Just down the hill from the barn where dinner and cocktail hour are held, the weddings at Twin Tails end their evenings with this indoor-outdoor space, perfect for continued drinks and plenty of dancing…

A definite favorite from the day!

An aerial view with my friend Jason Shaw! He DJ’s and provides acoustic music, too!

I clearly couldn’t get enough of the evening scene. 🙂

Scenes and thoughts from deep creek

Well hey now! I thought for sure it had been more than seven months since I blogged last! Wish I could do it more…and plan to as soon as the new JFP website comes out.

I’m not sure I’m starting anything consistent here, just sharing some random thoughts and scenes from Deep Creek on this random Wednesday…

Jessica is amazing and she made us feel so comfortable! Having her capture our wedding was like having my best friend with me for every moment! Jessica's photos are fun, whimsical, and sophisticated!

We are not a stoic couple and did not want posed (or trying-too-hard) photos! Jessica was able to capture our personalities and the elegance of the day! I can't stop looking at our photos!

"Jessica is amazing!"

The best decision I could have made for my wedding was hiring Jessica Fike as a photographer! I was in a wedding prior that she was a photographer for and seeing how organized and easy and strategic she was to work with is what convinced me! She makes you feel so comfortable and helps teach you how to pose and smile and look so natural! She keeps you on schedule throughout your day and captures so much emotion in her photos. She is worth every penny plus more!

" the best decision."
