For those that love snow and don’t get to see it, or for those who aren’t sure if they like snow because they don’t see it often, this post is for you! The rain was dripping off of them! Literally, off their clothes and off their faces! That’s immediately what comes to mind when I think of Rachel and Elliott’s Swallow Falls State Park elopement almost three years. We had the forest to ourselves (likely because it was pouring rain and no one else wanted to be there, ha) and no one cared! They embraced it! We photographed it! We filmed it! And it was just MAGIC! So when a couple chooses Swallow Falls State Park over every other beautiful location and setting we have here in Garrett County and Deep Creek, I’m extra excited! Like a recent bride of mine...I shared ALLLL the location and venue option ideas with her. The backyard at a lake house, lakefront at a park, a gathering room at an inn, at a local restaurant...and she and her fiancé chose Swallow Falls for their small summer wedding! I love it! And I just love helping people get married here! AH! YES! COME GET MARRIED HERE, y’all! Finished my article for @marylandroadtrips after midnight today and am soooo excited and honored they asked me to put together a piece that’s all about a winter getaway in Garrett County and Deep Creek. Well how’s about this for a nice little POP of color!? 🤩 These two lovely ladies @meem_dvorchak and @bea_cuz are some of my longest...oldest..? Long-time friends! We’ve been friends for almost 20 years, they were in Brian and I’s wedding 12.5 years ago, and on NYE one of them got married! And I was able to photograph it! Oohhh the yearly Top Nine...I guess it’s that time. And it’s not surprising, just like with every other year, that my most liked photos are not client work! Or at least the majority of the top nine photos aren’t client work. Most liked photo? My half naked family on the beach 😂 Second most liked photo...a colorful sunset! 4 of the 9 photos are actually client work, but the rest are just me and the fam, and Barbie and Ken. 🤩 I’m not exactly sure what to take away from discovering this set of nine photos, so I’ll just say thank you to everyone that’s come by! SO GLAD we live in a world where there is snow! I used to not be such a big fan of cold, snow and winter. But when you live in the snowiest place in Maryland (#tundraofmaryland 🤩) the cold and snow come early and they stick around for too long. A few years ago I decided we needed a change of attitude! We weren’t going to escape the Tundra, so we needed to embrace it! I started shooting in the snow more and promoting snowy sessions...we make plans to go to @wispresort for skiing and tubing...we invest in good snow clothes and boots...I buy bags and bags of hand warmers! And really, I can’t believe we didn’t do it sooner! How can you not want to get excited and embrace it when you see scenes like this!?
